"Absolutely love coming to this Cafe. The owner always makes you feel welcomed and he remembered me from last time. The chai latte is made in store and is the best chai latte I have ever tried. The breakfast is devine. I ordered the classic Benedict and what I love about this particular dish is the home made hash brown cakes and they use free range bacon and eggs. This place is a little gem. A must to try."

"It's toast, and stuff on toast, and good coffee. It's cheap. It's delicious. This is such a delightful little place, I'm a huge supporter of shops that just want to do one thing, and do it really well, rather than having a long, vast menu of average food. Go here, you'll be happy."

"Not bad for a hospital cafeteria. I was working a nursing shift at The Alfred, and I didn 't have any leftover food to eat on my meal break, since all my cooking gear is still making its way across the Pacific with the rest of my household goods. I 'm not a boat migrant, but my stuff is. So I took the lift down to Alf 's Cafe, reckoning that even hospital food would be better than a grumbly hypoglycaemic stomach.<br/ <br/ I can 't testify about the hot food operation I see other Urbanspooners have slagged it but the coffee-and-pastry side looks good! Alf 's has a bigger selection of patisserie and fancy dessert creations than most of the coffee-forward cafes I 've been to. I don 't know where they source them from, but if I was a patient at The Alfred, I 'd be begging my rellies to bring me some. As long as it was compliant with the doctors ' diet order, that is!<br/ <br/ My almond croissant $3 was a bit dense in the middle, but had crunchy edges, lots of almonds on the top and good flavour overall. The flat white I had was more like a cappucino no microfoam, but what can one expect from a hospital, eh? although the flavour was mellow. And they whipped it out at 'Respond Blue ' speed! On future shifts at The Alfred, I know where I 'm eating. At least until I start generating my own leftovers."

"Tucked away beside a little laneway, easily accessible from both Toorak Road & Chapel Street, my friend and I were surprised to find this cafe so quiet."

"A modern and bright environment, good mood with great music. has a beautiful view of princes park and surrounding green.
/ great eating, their crushed avo is highly recommended. great coffee, although not super strong.
S Located in a business environment and so can be quite busy and a little loud to time, but the music keeps it under wraps. no table service."
