"My wife and I are home builders from the UP of Michigan and rate Madison as one of the top 3 'Big Cities ' we would love live in. We happened to stumble upon this most excellent establishment while in town for the Lake Home and Cabin show, After an intense day we just wanted something close by. From the moment we entered the doors the feeling of high quality design, finishes, people was evident. The place was packed with happy people. A fine, well educated , pleasant , attentive young lady -Bridget was our server. We felt like we were the number 1 customer there. There is a fine team here to serve. The wood fire simply is earthy , grounding and familiar for folks like us and we settled right in to the finest cuisine that we, as avid travelers , have experienced in this part of the country. Bridget, as well as all of the staff, really make this a Mad City destination. Well Done:"

"Great place for brunch in Madison! The portions are generous and the choices cater to all parties. They support other local businesses for coffee, tea and other options on the menu. Everything is made in house and is absolutely delicious. If you?re looking for a one of a kind place that makes everything in house this is your place. 6 ate for about $140 with drinks. Their Bloody Mary?s and other brunch drinks were delicious."

"I wanted to love this place and waited for months to get a reservation but unfortunately the food didn’t live up to the hype. I will say that the food was beautifully plated, innovative and diverse. The atmosphere is lovely. The chef/owners are down to earth, it’s not stuffy like other fine dining and the vibe is playful. The music is 90’s hip hop and rap which is surprising but fun! The service is great and they are very accommodating to dietary restrictions. I can’t eat shellfish and they have gluten free menu options too!My biggest issues with the meal were two dishes were extremely over salted which is very disappointing. I have a high salt tolerance so this is not something I usually complain about. Second, the venison was super tough and they did not serve it with knives so it was a strange experience to eat. I ended up picking it up with my hands which was fine and fits the vibe of this place. I was a fan of the chocolate mole pairing but that might just be preference. I felt like it over powdered the venison.Two dishes were amazing: the pea soup with cream and a pesto and the Romain boat with grapefruit! I also quite liked the custard dessert which was so creative but I thought the custard needed more citrus to cut the sweetness.My final qualm is environmental/ethical. The menu was very neat focused which is fine but almost everything was flown in from crazy far away places. It felt like a strange disconnect after the chef talking about how they love nature and foraging but then the main ingredient in each dish was from thousands of miles away. So many nice restaurants in madison use farm to table locally available meat and produce u was disappointed that nook didn’t consider their environmental impact more."

"This is the fourth time my family and I visit this restaurant. The food is great. I recommend a sopes order or the menudo dish. They improved the customer service in comparison with previous visits. They have young guy serving the tables, and that really helps them with previous issues they had. This is for now my favorite Mexican restaurant in the south of Madison city area.Kid-friendliness: Families can go there, I recommend to be seated in the back area. Because at the front area, they have a bar, and sometimes there are guys drinking there.Parking: The parking lot is shared with a laundry store, sometimes is difficult to find a parking spot."

"This restaurant just continues to amaze and impress with every visit. The food is exceptional. The beet salad was so tender and light, it was the perfect appetizer. The quail in particular was so flavorful that it was absolutely to die for. The drinks paired perfectly with the food. The Profligate Potation was the perfect dinner drink. The wait staff was extremely helpful, and managers made us feel welcome and at home. It was the perfect date night. I would highly recommend this to anyone that wants a fantastic atmosphere and an absolutely delicious meal."
