"My disappointment is immeasurable... and my day is ruined. The food served at Village Saloon used to be absolutely incredible, but this place really took a major hit. I would advise everyone I knew to go there, and now I honestly feel bad for recommending this place to anyone. Poor service with none of the waiters or waitresses wearing a mask (even before the mandate was lifted), they don 't accept credit cards on Sundays, and for lunch they only have about 10 meal options to chose from made this experience certainly one to remember. My family wanted the chicken parm and they said they didn 't cook it this early despite it being 4 o 'clock on a Sunday. The burger was burnt to a crisp and most of my family got sick from the food. I got the chicken parm pizza (because it was one of the few things they served that day) and while it was ok, the actual chicken was as dry as a desert. Pizza is my favorite food, and I didn 't even finish my meal so that should tell you something. The place also just feels run down and old with a definite need for an update. Very disappointed by a place that I used to love."

"What a great experience. All the staff is super friendly and very accommodating. We were able to sit outside which offers a beautiful view of the lake. As customers got cold heaters were ignited and blankets were passed around adding to the homey atmosphere. The menu is constantly in flux here so do your research before arriving if you aren't a very adventurous eater. We started our meal with the lightly smoked ricotta with pickled beets and pear. For my main course I had a duck breast with rice and cauliflower and for desert I had the flourless chocolate cake. My takeaway from the meal was the focus on texture, freshness and subtle flavors. Nothing was in your face flavor it let the food shine through without leaving you grasping for the salt and pepper shaker. The chocolate cake was decadent as it should be and the little bonus plates were a fun touch. Between courses we were brought fresh mozzarella and tomato, a matcha and mint tea, and marshmallows and truffles (the chocolate kind). The bread was an airy foccacia with sea salt and 2 separate butter offerings one a fresh cream butter the other a duck fat butter. Are there things they could improve here? Yea, but the overall experience was amazing and I will definitely be back again."

"Went late on a Friday night. Staff was very nice. Definitely be weary to play pool against the bartender, she will certainly wipe the floor. Atmosphere was OK and seemed mostly like regulars."

"Food was uninspired and over-priced, honestly. Atmosphere could have been rated higher, except they pack you in with too many tables too close to each other--a great setup to learn about everyone else's life/problems but challenging to hold your own conversation.Also, be warned, fajita orders create more actual smoke in the dining area than I've ever seen! Think Canadian wildfires and be prepared for blaring smoke alarms.On the plus side, staff is very attentive and food comes very fast, like before appetizers are half eaten, so plan accordingly.Overall, not a favorite, sorry."

"Not a fan of the new design. Too dark for my liking and I don't like the seating. I don't like using the touch screens and because they are short staffed you have to use them, yet go to the register to pay anyway if you're paying cash. Food is typical fast food."

"Myself and some friends rode out to the Sussex county fairgrounds for a event. It became dark and cold and the agreement was to get in the warm car and head back to Brooklyn. On the way back we saw the colorful bright lights of the diner and immediately pulled up. We were not in the door a full 30 seconds before a gentle showed us to a table. I thought that was great since the place was crowded. Their were three of the local police eating in there also. Lots of people and families. Valeria was our host and she handed us all one of the most diverse menus I?ve seen in a long long time. They have something for every taste including vegetarian offerings. I was immediately impressed. I started my evening with a very well prepared latte. It was yummy. We ordered and next thing I know Valeria had returned with our food. The kitchen in this place must be large and efficient to have prepared our orders to all show up at the same time. Our host Valeria was attentive and asked more then once if we were good. That?s awesome to me. The food was hot, well prepared and yummy. Anytime I?m in the area I will definitely return. Go at night.
