"Had a wonderful time browsing over all the lovely sweets, had to be firm in how much we bought as I could literally see the pounds adding on. Loved the chocolates, was soo good."

"We just had a delicious breakfast at this cafe on the beachfront, with a lovely view. I had fresh berries (raspberries, blackberries, strawberries and blueberries) with excellent yogurt and muesli served in a tall glass so pretty! My partner had tasty fresh fruit salad and muesli. Tea and coffee also v good."

"I like going to Timeless Way because most of the staff are lovely and we really enjoyed our coffees. The warm muffins are large and delicious warmed in the oven. One of my kids had the Devonshire Tea which looked fresh and yum. The service and presentation was terrific.I only have one negative thing to say and that is that the glare can be really uncomfortable at times. Be prepared for it to be busy at lunchtime."

"If you’re looking for an intimate, charming and refined dining experience that won’t blow the budget but will blow your mind, try A Tiny Place in Francis Street Battery Point. From the moment you climb up the steps into the cottage restaurant, the lighting, autumn-themed wall mural and décor will transport you to a happy place where you can fully embrace the flavours from the small but exciting and original menu. The atmosphere is jovial and unpretentious and the wait staff make you feel at ease while taking very good care of you. Look for the small A-frame sign out the front and go to the Facebook page for a contact number to book your table (not the number that Google shows)."

"Went for a pre Christmas family lunch today (9 of us) as I'd been a couple of times 2 or 3 years ago and always found the service and food good so booking was on my recommendation. Think 6 or 7 of us ordered the fish and then told later that there was only one serving available so we had to make different choices. After ordering we waited an hour for the food to arrive, needless to say we were all getting quite hungry by then as well as a bit agitated. There was another table of about 10, another with 6 and one with 4 so definitely not busy. When the food did finally arrive, must say some of the dishes certainly didn't appear at all appetising (especially the gnocchi and the duck). Dishes were slow coming to the table and those served first were waiting for everyone else to be served before starting and consequently their meals were getting cold. Every single meal except one (steak, chips and salad) were disgusting, almost inedible. 6 of the dishes were left half eaten and the 2 gnocchis weren't eaten at all apart from a couple of mouthfuls. It was evident from the half eaten (or less) plates taken from the table that the meals were totally disgusting. On pointing this out to one of the young staff, his non reaction indicated he was obviously not able to deal with this criticism (which was delivered in a perfectly courteous non threatening manner). A more senior female waitress was apologetic and indicated that the total bill would be reduced but when it came time to pay, this wasn't done even though it was queried and were told it couldn't be done then whatever that meant. I was not aware of this until told later and can only assume we were charged the full amount with no compensation whatsoever. I was sooo embarrassed that I'd suggested this venue and everyone, with the exception of the steak eater, left hungry!! To have 8 out of the 9 meals uneaten speaks for itself."
