"Made a last minute booking here for my daughters birthday. As soon as we walked in we received a warm welcome and a relaxed atmosphere. There were 7 of us in the group,including one child, and we were perfectly catered for with an excellent standard of food and all for a great price. Once it was noted it was my daughters birthday the manager (I assume! returned with party banners and a badge! We were so spoiler for choice on the very varied menu that we can't wait to go back and work our way through each meal! Many thanks for a truly lovely evening!"

"We have been regulars at the Coach Horses for years and love the place! The atmosphere and service is always great! Generally the food is good but a bit below par today. Cold, dry chips and lukewarm overpriced soup. During previous visits have enjoyed...eating more."

"Visited Knaresborough with friends this weekend and went to the Mitre hoping to get some food and drinks however, upon arrival we were met with an extremely rude waiter with a serious attitude problem. We entered the bar and were all discussing what we were going to have looking behind the bar at what was on offer (as you usually would). The waiter (who I believe was American) then shouted in my face ‘HELLOOOO’ (which made me jump), to which I replied hello…? he then said, in an extremely rude and aggressive tone ‘THATS AN APPROPRIATE RESPONSE WHEN SOMEONE SAYS HELLO’. None of us even heard him say hello prior to that. We left immediately and went on to a lovely and much nicer pub up the road (the Carriages would recommend). It was extremely odd behaviour and made us (and the waiter’s colleagues) feel very uncomfortable. Their loss we would have spent a few hundred on food and drink."

"It was getting late in the afternoon I decided to shout up and say to my partner we were going to call somewhere in town for dinner to save her cooking when we got home.I chose the Pickled sprout in the Yorkshire hotel. Boy I’m glad we did Old fashioned favorites “Prawn cocktails” Which were superb and came with Gluten free bread for Sue as she has an intolerance Then a Sunday roast After much deliberation we chose the pork Again fantastic and one all gluten free All washed down with an Italian red Can’t recommend highly enough and staff were brilliant"
