"My friends and I had such a great time! Great atmosphere. We were able to watch the kids in the play area and still have a decent adult conversation. The food was delicious and the service was really friendly. Well done to the team of Zara, Rebecca, Daniella and a special shout out to Jacqui who really took care of us so attentive and brought out the kids dessert without us asking. Thank you! We’ll be back!"

"On Easter Saturday arrived on time for 6.30pm booking in bistro. Place was only 30% full. Ordered and served mains without any noticeable delay. Food was good apart from chef special roast port which was far below restaurant standard. At 7.45 staff came to say that desserts coffees had to be ordered now as kitchen was closing at 8pm. Display fridge which normally has a large array of sweets was closed. Only 3 choices on menu. Orders placed (and accepted) included items from all 3 choices. Shortly after staff came to table to advise that they had run out of 2 of the 3 choices. At 8.25pm staff came around all tables and told all patrons to leave as they were closing. Closed at 8.30pm. Bar and pokies stayed open. After charging 10% loading on meals for staff holiday loading, no warning of restricted hours on booking nor on arrival this was absolutely pitiful. No explanations or apologies provided and no appearance by management. None of us or our friends will be back."

"University Hill is a relatively new shopping and dining precinct in the outer north, directly opposite RMIT's Bundoora campus. It's not really the sort of place that you're going to make a special trip to, but it does a good job of providing services for the locals, including the large campus opposite.There are a number of places to eat at University Hill, and Ziffano's is definitely one of the better venues. I've eaten there twice, both times mid-week for dinner, and both times with a group of friends. The first time we went, the service wasn't great. We struck a waiter with "inattentive blindness"--when trying to get his attention, he seemed to look everywhere but at us, the paying customers. He seemed more interested in chatting with--I'm guessing--one of the owners.The second time, things turned around for the better. Our waiter was excellent and the service could not be faulted.I've had the risotto on both occasions that I've dined here and it's been excellent on both occasions. The seasoning is spot on, the ingredients are fresh and of high quality, and the dish has been at just the right consistency. Risotto is a dish that's easy to stuff up, but they do it just right here at Ziffano's.My friends are a range of dishes, and all were pleased with their choices. The room at Ziffano's is spacious, airy, light, and clean, and the prices are reasonable for food made with care and using good technique.If you find your way in the area, I can recommend Ziffano's for a good quality meal in nice surrounds. Hopefully you will get the waiter we had recently; he was a beauty."
