"We booked in advance, table of 2. Drink Menu • cocktails not available • lychee juice not available • lambs spiced rum waiting staff didn't know what it was not available. Food we were advised of staff shortage in the kitchen, not a problem for us as we're out to enjoy the evening. •1 starter arrived. 20 mins later the 2nd still hadn't. By this point glasses were also empty. Went to the bar asked where starter was? I was advised it was down to lack of staff in kitchen (in my opinion you should serve starters together not separately) Starter then arrived, it was awful. • Our table wasn't checked to see if we wanted anymore drinks or if we were enjoying our meal. We cancelled our mains, paid left. Sadly we were even charged for the starter that we didn’t eat Very disappointed"

"I think Mine is probably better than the review I leave here, but not on the night we dined here. The food itself was very good, but the service we received was below par, especially compared to the obvious preferential treatment received by the table next to us. They were seated after us, and ordered after us, yet received their drinks (our drink order was forgotten) and starters before us. It became clear soon after they were seated that they were friends with the chefs and front of house, but should other diners experience be diminished because of this? I think they could focus on quality control in the kitchen a little more too, as some diners appeared to get bigger portions than others. I would recommend Mine, but I would recommend 3 or 4 restaurants in Falmouth before it."

"Having eaten in the golf club a few times we were intrigued to hear of the new chef and booked onto the first Fish themed night, the staff set out the restaurant to create a good ambience and the nigh was well supported with every table reserved it was a nice buzz and the anticipation was high for the food and we weren't disappointed as each meal that came from the kitchen was superbly presented, the crab cake sat in a bisque along with the scallops set the bar for the main course where the Hake was fantastic the whole night was a success and the promise of more themed nights to come make Above the Bay another great addition to Falmouth's food scene."
