"With no official English name, the closest name I could derive from their Chinese name 洛阳兄弟烤串 was Luoyang Brothers BBQ Cart. Located in the heart of Elmhurst along Broadway and in front of the US Supermarket parking lot, this skewer cart has catered to the local community with their variety of skewer meats and are open late for the wee-hours feast. Due to being in front of the parking lot and well lit from the street lights, it's hard to miss this cart. Since their peak hours are after all the nearby spots have closed, there is actually ample parking in the lot in case street parking doesn't work. An added bonus is the fact they have actual seating for folks who want to enjoy their skewers with a table and a seat. It's not a lot, but it's way more than what most other carts have to offer.Many of the skewer carts of today are offering theirs for $2+, but Luoyang is right around the $1.50-$2 mark. The quality isn't better than what one would find in Flushing, but it's perfectly adequate for what it is. The lamb with a little spice powder is my usual go-to, but I also enjoy a little beef tendon and chicken. For more adventurous skewer enthusiasts, there is sheep's waist and frog legs available for premium charges. #1 Service is usually good for the most part; it's a pretty fun to watch the man flipping the skewers over the hot coals while dousing them with seasoning at the same time. Mandarin is usually the way to go here, but pointing at the menu seems to work just fine for our non-Chinese speaking friends. It's a cash only operation, so bring plenty of it.As the largest satellite Chinatown in the borough, Elmhurst will only continue to get bigger with carts like this in the fold. It's not like Flushing with multiple carts across Main Street, but I'm just happy they've stuck around to provide a late night option to the neighborhood._____________ #1 No, you go ahead. "The staff was friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was good. However, the chicken wings were bland. True they are big and crispy but no flavor whatsoever. The bbq sauce was okay. The drink I tried was all alcohol and not tropical or flavorful at all."
