"Beautiful new place in an old restored building on Walnut owned by the guys who used to have The Spot food truck. If you aren’t familiar with The Spot, you need to get to know The Walnut. Ben Norris and Hunter Wilson are two of the best guys in the world, and the most talented. It’s honest, delicious food in a relaxed, upscale and hip environment. They’ve tried to retain some of the history and original beauty of the building which is awesome. Everyone needs to check this place out!"

"Did you know you can put your name on the wait list online? GAME CHANGING! Enjoyed brunch today and it was great! Our server was awesome, the bloody Mary?s perfect and all 4 meals were perfect. Eggs Benedict was perfectly prepared, the Denver omelettewas exactly as expected and the breakfast burrito was big enough for 2 meals! One of the Best Brunches in Des Moines."

We started with drinks, including a loss in the forest (see picture) my wife loved. For dinner we ordered a cheese meatboard (see picture) and the fondue (see pictures) together with Loaded Fries (see picture) and cheese curds (see picture). All were fantastic, I can't think that you're getting out, so they'd all recommend! The Loaded Fries were creamy and cheesy, while the Cheese Curds were rich and at the same time light.
