"Americana is an amazing steakhouse and American classic fusion restaurant. Everything on the menu is a great choice, and you’ll be surprised how much you enjoy something you wouldn’t typically order. After dozens of visits, I’ve never had a dish I didn’t like, never encountered any kind of problem, and always enjoyed every single craft cocktail I’ve tried. Americana is a Des Moines staple and a guaranteed good night out. Very fairly priced for the quality Worth every dollar, highly recommend."

"Met friends for dinner at Marlene's based on a recommendation of friend. We were not disappointed! It was a wonderful evening and the meal was outstanding! While a limited menu, everyone enjoyed their selection and the food was fantastic. The risotto carbonara was perfectly cooked, creamy, and enough for two. ever. The beef short rib was amazing, as was the pan roasted salmon and the brussel sprouts were so good my husband would not share! We brought our own wine and also had a bottle off the menu. The owner was there and met us as we concluded our meal. Our server was wonderful and gave us time all evening to talk and order when we were ready. This is a hidden gem just blocks from the East Village and Market District off of MLK on SE Run, don't walk, to Marlene's"

"This is a beautiful restaurant with mostly bland food and sufficient service. biscuits 2/5 basic dripping biscuit served with cold hard butter collards 3/5 sufficient green usually vinegar and speck, not served hot green bons 1/5 bons mac and cheese 2/5 mostly cheese seemed for a long time to keep sweet spicy huhiman 1/5 not sweet not spicyy over boiled, for what seems like a signature dish this is perfect"
