"Went to the recent reopening as a long-time fan of The Pod. The food is always different, and always inspired. Service is genuinely warm, as the pricing is humble and inclusive. The restrictions for COVID were very clear and easy to follow, and we felt very at ease during the lunch. The Menu is carefully selected, guided by dieticians, and for Vegan food out, hands down the best balanced meal one can get in Coventry, possibly even the Midlands, in my experience. There's no judgement or vegan propaganda whatsoever, and carnivores, pescatarians etc will not feel shortchanged in the slightest by the offerings. The Pod as an establishment is also a great hub for creatives and creative-thinkers, with echoes of cultural flourishings such as Time Union, Food Union, Supper Clubs, and other events. It remains welcoming to newcomers and tourists, and the serving system is relaxed and straight-forward with options for Gluten Free and clear indications for Nut Allergies. I would highly recommend anyone eating out in Coventry to try The Pod at least once!"

"Literal best pizza you can find in coventry. employees are always friendly and welcoming. everything is made fresh and the food is available in a maximum of 10-15 minutes depending on the order. in comparison to other Italian places, they get good value for money, definitely recommend."

"It was my work Christmas do Zoom of course) and I was feeling sad not to have the opportunity for a three course meal with friends. Playwrights to the rescue! They have an amazing offer on Friday nights where they will deliver within Coventry for free £12 for one course, £16 for two courses, £20 for three courses, £2 steak supplement). I decided on the regular menu, but they are also running a festive menu for the same price, although I'm not sure which days this can be delivered. My housemate and I shared halloumi fry starter, then I had steak and chips for main with crumble for pudding, while she had the beefburger for a main. I was worried that the food wouldn't be good because it had travelled, but I needn't have worried. It hadn't stayed hot, but it came packaged in microwavable containers mainly paper and cardboard based except that the sauces came in plastic). After a quick blast in the microwave, the food was almost as good as if it had been served up in the restaurant. I asked for my steak to be cooked a little more rare than usual, and that was a good idea, as my medium rare steak was definitely medium by the time I ate it. Nonetheless, it was perfectly cooked and easily cut with an ordinary table knife, which I think says a lot. My housemate confirmed that the burger was very tasty, too. Same for the starter and the pudding. It all came with sides salad, onion rings, tomato, coleslaw, custard etc. All in all, a great experience which was a real treat for us and great value. Highly recommended!"
