"Food is more expensive these days but Avenue Bistro could do better with their fish and chips offering. 1 piece of halibut and fries was 26 and a side of coleslaw was an extra 2. The fish was OK but a bit dry. The batter was light but not exceptional(it was take out but we ate within 10 minutes). All in all, the box was pretty disappointing on opening: especially if one ishungry, which I was. The piece of fish was small and the offering of fries was dismal and so much so that I thought it was amistake but all 3 orders fell to the same meagre level. OK, halibut is pricey but fries aren 't. The most lame element was the side of coleslaw it was served in a tiny plastic cup the same size as the tartar sauce about 1 2 tablespoons (not anexaggeration it was about 1 mouthful). Cabbage is cheap so perhaps they could loosen up a little on the portion size. Inoverview, pretty disappointing as I 'd heard many say it was a great place to eat in Comox. Maybe they 're catering to the retireecrowd that want a smaller meal but for the price, these must be well to do retirees. I won 't be heading back value for wasdismal. Food quality was OK but far from exceptional."

"We were a party of 4 adults and 1 child (seven years old). Our child loved the chicken strips and fries. I had a veggie burger which was homemade and good. Our server was so so and that's why I give it an average rating. We will try it again. I don't think you can judge by one experience."

"Food Review: 1X chicken and 1x beef/lamb. Essentially what you receive are two large ?taco? style pita wraps, in parchment paper and then wrapped in tinfoil. I think the biggest overall issue here stems right from the beginning: the style of delivery.There is no ?wrap? whatsoever, and all the ingredients and sauce constantly fall out of the top, front and back. The tomatoesand beef/lamb are cut much too large and the chicken and beef/lamb were underwhelming. The chicken is particularlydisappointing. When I think Greek chicken I think olive oil marinated chicken oozing with flavour, spice, and lemon.Unfortunately here we have dry, tasteless, pulled chicken. I don?t mean to be harsh or critical but this is very disappointingfood. Having moved here from Vancouver this town is missing a Shawarma place desperately but unfortunately Yummies Gyrosdoesn?t fit the bill. I recognize that this is Greek, and not Lebanese, Turkish, or Iranian, but at the end of the day, I justwant a good chicken wrap. I won?t be back"
