"We were looking for a nice place to eat in the region of Condrieu and darkened Bistrot de Serine's door by accident. We were early, the place was empty and we had no reservation. We were told that the place was unfortunately fully booked. We really loved the place which is a restaurant, a wine bar and also a wine shop with a very serious wine list. We were extremely disappointed and our two adorable hostesses went out of their way to try and squeeze us in. We managed to get a table. What an experience! The wines are very interesting but beware that everything local from Condrieu or Côte rôtie will cost you a ridiculous amount of money. We opted for a more reasonable white Vacqueyras. The food was excellent, fresh, sophisticated, very tasty and extremely cheap. We had the asparagus with poached egg, the salmon clafoutis with lime, the veal with creamy polenta and a surprising Chartreuse iced soufflé. An excellent restaurant!"

"Sunday dinner, just arrived. This restaurant is the one of the only that is open in the Ampuis area, The starters were poor. over cooked salmon, directly from the fridge with asparagus that tasted from a tin. the second starter was poor as well. A mixture of peas, snow peas and string beans all covered in some kind of mayo. The fish was the only well prepared dish and the duck and the beef were poor at the least.So, maybe the chef was out that night... the food was really not as we expected. And what a difference between the amazing views of the river and the slopes of cote blonde while having a great cote rotie bottle, and the food they serve."

"The Domaine de Clairfontaine is why we travel in France. A beautiful hotel and an expert French chef and owner, Monsieur Philippe Giradon made our stay unforgettable. A perfectly orchestrated restaurant service with trained eyes for all our needs. Between Lyon and our Sunday visit to Hauterives to see the Palais Idéale du Facteur Cheval, it was a perfect weekend getaway and not too far from our home in the French part of Switzerland. Bravo to all the staff and thank you again for a perfect stay."
