"My Partner & I were visiting Chateauneuf de Pape for the first time and stumbled upon this lovely little restaurant, just outside the tourist office. It had a lovely ambiance and seemed reasonably priced so we had a small starter each and a glass of wine. The service was good and the waitress was kind and overlooked our terrible french accents. The food was lovely and great value for money!"

"From the street this place looks a bit down at heel and the prospect of a splendid lunch a bit unlikely. A tatty awning, assorted plastic chairs and a reception area without, I think it is fair to say, a coordinated approach to furnishing and...decorating make up the initial impression. It was, however, the first proper day of our holiday, the cloud and rain from the previous day had departed leaving an early summer's day of the purest Provençal light filtering through leafy plane trees into village squares and it was lunchtime. The staff were friendly, Monsieur le chef made appearances to check all was OK and the food was all delicious. The menu will obviously change but by way of illustration we were served some little toasts with tapenade and a green garlicky spread to whet the appetite, an entrée of shrimp salad on an avocado base and a main course of mustard chicken tenderloins with frites and a zucchini based grilled vegetable concoction. Dessert was a slice of apple tart with crème anglaise and a little shot glass with what was like a soft cheesecake textured with shredded coconut drizzled with berry coulis. Nothing overly complicated, lovely flavours and very good value. One mark off for allowing smoking in an area people are eating when will the French get it?"
