"First time. Menu not bad. Bit of a tardis. We were early, 6.30pm. Business slowly built up, especially takeaway. Food was great, came in good time. Certainly will go again.Update: Attended last night with family. Apart from one other customer, just us four. Once again, scored a goal! Entrees quick and delicious. The prawns were crispy and juicy, the deep fried onion item to be noted. Mains too were very timely as well as their disappearance. Excellent meal. Excellent service."

"After a chat about how Indian food is not so good in Newcastle or the hunter as compared to the UK with a very well travelled local food critic he told me Indian at Hunter is the best Indian he's had in Australia.Right he was, I've dined in and had take away there several times now. It's never disappointing."

"We used to travel an hour to restaurant for tapas until we got recommended Purple Hayes. This place is fantastic and has the added bonus of being 5 minutes from where we live. World class quality tapas, excellent menu and friendly service. The chef at this restaurant is great and also very innovative. He is constantly coming up with excellent tapas options that are creative and tasty. They also have a themed night once a week each month, and this month is American. If you book ahead, you get a free jug of Sangria too. We are there at least once a week. Usually on a Thursday night as they have free BYO for locals. An excellent place to eat."
