"The Grand Chinese Restaurant was a planned venue for lunch recently — a first time experience for us. We (threesome arrived just before the restaurant opened at 11 am, and were able to finding parking almost immediately in front of the restaurant’s entrance door. <br/ <br/ The restaurant, with its dark colours, et al, was rather warm cosy looking inside, and seemed much bigger than it looked like from its small footprint outside. The kitchen is off to one side, behind glass, so quite open for customers to see what’s happening (and to catch some warm and nice smiles from the chefs doing their thing! . For us, the ambiance ‘felt’ comfortable. <br/ <br/ Service was friendly, and very attentive, ensuring our water glasses and tea mugs were kept full.<br/ <br/ What was ordered and shared: (names of dishes and descriptions of ingredients, as per menu listings <br/ <br/ — Garlic Pea Leaves (pea leaves lightly stir fried w/minced garlic — Salt Pepper Squid (deep fried squid tossed in spiced salt diced chilli pepper — Seafood Chow Mein (fried noodle w/prawns, sliced fish, squid greens — Spicy Ginger Beef (crispy shredded beef tossed in a spicy gingery sauce .<br/ <br/ Nice presentations, good sized servings, and dishes from kitchen to our table in a nice, timely sequence. Preparations were warm, and distinctly very flavourful, and tasty. Seasoning (spices, etc was definitely, and distinctly apparent in all dishes, but at an about perfect ‘medium’ level for us, and not overly done in any dish ordered. The pea leaves were very lightly cooked, leaving them nice and fresh and crispy to the taste the minced garlic added a nice flavour without overpowering the overall taste. Beef in the ginger beef was tender and chewy, the sauce pleasantly ‘gingery’ a very well prepared, flavourful, and tasty dish. The squid was tender and juicy, coatings light, seasonings spicy hot (picked out those little red green guys for daughter! the dish about as perfect as one could expect. Ingredients in the chow mein were also very well prepared noodles perfect, seafoods and veggies, tender, and juicy a flavourful and tasty dish. <br/ <br/ The ‘Grand Chinese Restaurant’ turned out to be a great choice for our lunch venue — food was very tasty and well prepared, and service attentive — we thoroughly enjoyed our total dining experience there."

"First time trying this place and I really enjoyed it. We were promptly greeted and sat down. The server quickly came over and started introducing himself and making food suggestions. I ordered 3 dishes, one consisting of Orange walnut pork, the second is steam cod and black bean sauce with tofu and third a vegetable dish. They were all really well made and the portion is quite sizable. Quality and quantity. <br/>Prices are slightly above normal but not unreasonable for the quality of food that was served. Big screen tv on the walls so you can enjoy your food while watching tv is an added bonus. <br/>Recommending this to anyone who likes southern style Cantonese/Chinese food"

"We visited the Double One to enjoy a dinner with friends. The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff very courteous. Our food arrived piping hot and was typical of this type of Chinese restaurant. Visa and MasterCard are accepted. We managed to find parking at the rear of the restaurant. I understand that the restaurant also offers free delivery with a $25 minimum purchase."

"Great lunch specials. Fast and friendly service. Good quality and reasonable prices. Post pandemic the lunch special included soup is not as tasty. XLBs, beef rolls, fried rice noodles with beef and sweet sour pork are always delicious."

"Our lunch at Hee Rae Deung recently, was a first time visit for us. We arrived just a couple of minutes after the restaurant opened at 11am. One table was occupied, and the restaurant filled with diners rather quickly, and was totally full, with a few people...waiting for tables, before the noon hour arrived. We were showed to a booth style table, and promptly provided with menus, and a pot of tea. As first timers to the restaurant, and type of cuisine (Korean Chinese), we requested some assistance from our server with the ordering we all decided that one of the combos would be a good and best choice, and allow us to 'experiment ' a little and try a few dishes to share. What we ordered: Combo 'C ' three dishes (meat, seafood, and noodle), priced at $44.90 our server assured us (a threesome) that we had ordered enough food, and we took her advice. And when the dishes arrived, were sure glad we had done so the individual servings were very large in size family size portions. She saw the 'wow ' expressions on our faces when the first dish arrived! This combo consisted of the following three dishes: meat Tang Su Yuk sweet sour fried pork. The pork was lightly battered, crispy on the outside, and very sweet, moist, and tender on the inside. What I really liked was that the sauce itself was on the plate, under the pile of pork, not mixed into and on the pork leaving the sauce to use and enjoy as one desired (in contrast to so many restaurants that stir and spread their sweet sour sauce over, and through the food that 's ok, if you like their sauce, but not, if you do not). With this presentation, you were able to choose how much you wished to use kudos!! A large, so well prepared, and presented meat dish, and tasty too!! seafood Pal Bo Chae spicy mixed seafood mixed vegetables. It looked good, tasted good, and we left nothing on the plate!! Heh, some of the seafoods were a touch tough, and definitely required some chewing, but well worth the effort for the taste rewards. We really enjoyed this dish!! noodle Family Ja Jang large black bean noodles with seafood, vegetables pork. Our reaction to this dish was too much sauce, and for me, too much onions. We did enjoy the noodles, and picking out the tasty seafood pieces, and some of the veggies. But our conclusion it would not be a dish we would order again. We had a great first time experience we liked the ambience of the restaurant, the well prepared presented, tasty food, and the friendly, and most accommodating service!! We saw some great looking soups when there suspect three of them will be on our table when we 're dining at Hee Rae Deung the next time and looking forward to that!!"

"We ordered a 6-7 of classic spicy Szechuan dishes to share with 4 people. Most of the dishes were too oily and salty. The spicy oilchicken was mostly bones and very little meat. The portion size were also very small esp for the price they charge per dish.The service was also extremely slow and inattentive. We were the only table at the restaurant yet nobody came to take our order after we sat down for a while. We had to walk up to the counter to order. Nobody came to refill our hot water for tea or take any dirty dishes away during our entire meal either.The waiter robot was cool though, and gave us way better service than the actual servers themselves.The restaurant was clean and spacious.Not sure if I'll come back again. ??"

"We have a celiac in the family and love that we can all share a gluten free meal. Ginger beef and sesame chicken are my faves. Not super crispy, but we enjoy it nonetheless."

"I have been coming here as a regular. Great food, large portions, and reasonable prices, a winning combination. Service was really fast each time I came here; like food on the table within minutes of ordering. The Northern curry chicken is very flavourful, not too spicy, perfect over steamed rice. It?s my favourite. The noodles are made in-house so it's super fresh and tasty. Try the pan-fried rice cakes. The noodles in soup are another must try, big bowls with lots of noodles filled to the top. Let me know if you found this helpful."
