"We've had our end of year staff function at the Palace Lounge and everything was absolutely spot on. John and his team had strong attention to detail and anticipated all of our needs in advance. Great private room which catered for 20 of us and felt very spacious.. there was wide range of songs to choose from and very attentive service little bell in the room did all the trick! Will definitely return again for our next functions.. thanks again for looking after us.. highly recommended!"

"Bao Down Now's hole in the wall is very relaxed with a funky setting appropriate for its late night schedule. A couple of very personable mates run the place. Interestingly, I was accompanied by a few insects - crickets I believe, but they were just chilling too. The bao itself had perfect dough, not of an excessive thickness, with a beautifully light and fluffy texture. I selected braised beef cheeks for the filling, which were braised well, falling apart and full of flavour. The amount was also generous, so the remainder of the bao comprising cabbage, coriander and onion was an adequate complement. The mayonnaise spread over the bao was excellent, with slight sweetness and heat. Overall, the bao was of high quality - a stark cut above the rest for its reasonable price. I am eager to sample further offerings - especially the scallops, which were unavailable when I visited."
