"We strolled the car route south and needed a break so I spontaneously took the next exit and we found ourselves in the sleepy village of Baume les Dames. After a walk in the temperatures in the middle of the 30s we met the “Roy Chocolatier” facility with inviting diocese-red chairs under parasols. I went to the store/bar and was immediately hit by the very welcoming air conditioning. The mature lady behind the counter was the epitome of charm and helpfulness. But was completely confused by my simple request for an ice-cold chocolate milk drink. I would have just tried to order a milkshake, but instead I tried to explain with my advanced skills in French how I wanted to do that. She seemed to be confused, but finally gave me the impression that she understood me and assured me that she would bring me my drink if I settled out on the terrace in the blistering heat. Well, I waited and waited and just as I was at the point of melting, she was proud of a tray on which a simple small glass of cold chocolate milk and a separate one was balanced with a puppet player by Vanilleeis. I didn't have the heart (nor time) to explain that, no, that wasn't what I meant. So I immediately drank the ice in the milk and cleaned it down to partly relieve me of the summer heat. When the property resigns to pay the bill, I looked a bit exactly to discover a veritable chocolate factory inside with a series of cleverly cut chefs, the strange and wonderful things with chocolate sweets etc. When it was, I didn't think it was a good idea to buy some chocolate to take with me on my trip south to the Mediterranean in the face of summer heat. And it was probably just as good from the possible load on my purse. For my exotic drink I was charged a fee of 5,00 Euro. Ouch. Better move... and fast!"
