Was User at Lionfish Modern Coastal Cuisine a mag?
I was in town for a conference at the Congress Centre and found myself in the Gaslamp district. We were looking for a restaurant that served seafood and sushi. The dining room was beautiful, spacious, and modern. The service was very helpful and friendly. We started with a few salads, then had the salmon dish, lobster pasta, and gnocchi with mushrooms. I also enjoyed an excellent sake with my meal. Overall, it’s a fa... View all feedback.

What User dislikes about Lionfish Modern Coastal Cuisine:
Food quality was fine. Service was slow and waiter was not attentive. Forgot items. No one from management stopped by table and 4 people at host stand when we left and no one said thank you or good bye. View all feedback.

Our server was amazing. Loved the ambience. Oysters and drinks were great, my husband had the duck and it was incredible. I had the sea bass, it was okay but it came with horseradish and I wish this would’ve been noted on the menu so I could’ve ordered something else. Overall it was a great meal, we’ll definitely be back.

Just another generic overpriced restaurant in the gas lamp district.

They fire the Saturday evening host, they told me that they were fully booked and only the bar was available. bar was full, I moved on open table and could reserve a 1 tip immediately. back to the hostage and was immediately seated by a clearly annoyed host. server was great. friendly, attentive and informed about drinks and eating. I forget her name, but I served the high tops. I had a sushi roll and the skallops. I would order the sushi again. scallops were so over boiled, I forced myself to finish, but the others were for the one. manager was great, he helped out and took my card to pay, he asked how the meal was and I was hesitating to speak as I did not complain. he took the food problem out of me and took the bill. I didn't mention the host at this moment. next time I'm in san diego, I give them a second chance to eat.

Long service time. did not get a drink menu when sitting, then took a long time to get it. the drinks were subpar. the pear and thymian drink was in the grunde a mumosa. oysters were good, but I did not know what I liked because the server did not explain what was baja and what was west coast. I ordered a glass of wine, as they have deleted our appetizers and we didn't arrive until I ended my escape.
