Unique store with a assortment of goods. From locally brewed beer to bicycle tools and groceries ,they had it.We sat at the bar stool counter eating ice cream and did enjoy the atmosphere of last minute shoppers scurrying about getting last minute refreshments for their ferry ride.Staff were helpful with information about the local brew and some general information about the area. What Élodie Menard dislikes about Salt Spring Mercantile:
Cappuccino was not so great but it is an interesting old building located in the heart of that little town. In the summer time it is very busy. Had a nice porch to sit outside. View all feedback.
This is a fantastic little restaurant! They feature a wide variety of local products. I purchased some hot sauces that were made locally. I also wanted to grab lunch for a picnic, but they were quite busy and had limited sandwich options left. I ended up getting a bagel sandwich with smoked salmon, which was delicious. They offered classic cream cheese as a spread, as well as some baked goods that looked tempting, although I didn't try them. The service at the register was quick, even though there was a line. Just a heads up, there isn't a lot of parking available on their premises.
This place is full of surprises. They have a variety of locally made items, from soap to alcohol. We have visited several times and found the prices to be very reasonable.
The restaurant has a charming atmosphere, but it is expensive and does not offer wifi. I am hoping to find a place with an open terrace soon. The staff is polite, but the owner seems grumpy.
Every time we are in the village, we always check for the in-house baked broth. it's just yum, I can't describe it differently than yum.
You will be amazed at all this store has to offer. It was a great place to shop. Lots of art supplies too.
