York Bistro + Pub - Saint John

This restaurant is a fantastic place to have a drink and have a conversation with locals. Pete, the bartender, is friendly and knowledgeable on a variety of topics. You will feel right at home and not want to leave.

Attached to Hilton. Decent fish cake (but there was literally only one which I was surprised at). Beet salad had shaved / spiralized beets and was beautiful to look at but impractical to eat (difficult to mix together), pretty tasty and healthy.

Situated in the Hilton, the location is superb on the water front. Beautiful boardwalk to walk/run on with the best of views. The décor is weak, and a shame the hotel owners have not spent more on the design and atmosphere to be more 'cool'. The bar staff were very friendly, the cocktails and beers good, the house wine OK. HH certain times each week (5-6).

We had cocktails in the bar one night before dinner. Friendly service. Well made drinks. This serves as the breakfast room for the hotel. They will try to seat you in the rear, near the buffet, but we preferred to sit near the windows for the view.Service at breakfast was friendly and prompt.

Been eating most of my meals while visiting on business for 6 years; quality of food has deteriorated to point that I have banned the restaurant; much better local restaurants to my surprise now that I have been looking elsewhere; don't waist your time here unless you want to sit on boardwalk in the summer sun and have a drink.
