What Sabra A dislikes about Commonwealth Indian:
The service and ambiance was very nice. That is probably the only reason I would return. Not because of the food. I have had Indian cuisine from other restaurants (most not dine in) and they were amazing. Commonwealth Indian was mediocre taste to me. But this does not mean it is bad. There is just better out there. Favorite thing was the appetizers and cocktail- costal shrimp, hot and sour soup, Mumbai mule. View all feedback.
Coming from the UK originally, it was nice experiencing a real raj style ambiance. The staff was attentive, the food was delicious, and according to my wife the cocktails were also pretty stellar. Located in the fancy part of Rockville, amidst restaurants and bars, but suddenly upon entering, the quiet mood is worth the high prices-our birthday dinner
We enjoyed this place. Our host, Nathan, was excellent and recommended a great spinach appetizer crispy chaat which we really enjoyed. The goat cheese stuffed naan was great. We also had my favorite cardamon tea. Entrees matar paneer and chicken korma were very good. Charming decor and atmosphere. Clean restaurant and rest room. All in all, excellent pick.

YUM. Loved every dish we got (delivery only so far) and will be back for more. Lots of nuanced flavor that was not overwhelmingly spicy for my somewhat delicate palate (I like to be able to taste the garlic, ginger etc). I know others like more heat so maybe you can request it, but for me this was perfect.
