"Wednesday date night out with my husband and the atmosphere was very nice. I had no idea that downtown Riverhead had such a gem right on Main Street. Pro tip: Riverhead has limited on street parking but there are municipal parking lots on the next block and behind the restaurant. Allow a few extra minutes for parking.On to the good stuff. The food was AMAZING. One might even say outstanding. We started out with the crab cake appetizer. The sauces on the plate were delicious and I wanted to get every drop of those sauces into my mouth.We both ordered the Bison Cowboy steaks. The cook on them was perfect as was the seasoning. Chef Ian knows how to handle exotic meats properly. I felt like I was back in Cody, Wyoming eating my very first bison steak. It was that fresh and flavorful. His sauces were the perfect accompaniments to the bison. I am very picky about my sauces and I was very pleasantly surprised.Our server Alyssa made our night out both memorable and enjoyable. She was attentive, upbeat, knowledgable about the menu offerings and showed a passion for the food there.WE WILL BE BACK! I can't wait to try the Elk and explore the menu further.side note: The restaurant did a great job of maintaining covid precautions and protocols.
