Kalui restaurant in Puerto Princesa offers a mixed dining experience, as highlighted by various reviews. The Kare Kare seafood dish was criticized for its small portion and lack of flavor, alongside poor handling of complaints. The presence of rats on the roof above diners was a major turn-off for some patrons, despite the appealing ambiance. The dim lighting affected the overall dining experience for others, though the fish roll with coconut cream was a standout dish. Service quality varied, with some noting unsmiling and unhelpful staff. Positive comments were made about the fruity juices and the value of the special set meal. The restaurant's Filipino-themed decor and traditional background music were well-received, appealing particularly to Filipino diners. The sharing platter was a hit with one reviewer, praising the variety and taste of the dishes. Overall, opinions were divided on Kalui, with some lauding its authenticity and atmosphere, while others found it overrated.

Shuttle setting, fine dining , clean neat uniquely ambient conditions with additional artistic good foods. We ordered a few seafood items and must say and recommend their menu for seafood lovers. The hospitality is nice and the best part of my visit was that they provided me my curated request for certain cuisines and they gladly made it. Thank you all , it was a good experience overall.

On our last day in PuertoPrincessa, our tour guide recommended this restaurant. So we went there and had the best seafood in our entire holiday. We ordered grilled squid, seafood tempura and grilled shrimps. It was delicious!. We could not finish everything because the portion is also big. I cannot understand to some reviews we read that the food is pricey. No it is not. The food is worth the price. Tot ziens KaLui Filipino couple from The Netherlands

The Kare Kare seafood was very ordinary consisted of 2 small prawns and liquid. My wife is a Filipino Chef and complained to staff, Later a half coconut appeared with cut fruit in it as some sort of gift apology? The fruit was brown on surface probably a day old so it was no good to eat anyway. No verbal apology was offered regarding the amount of seafood in the Kare Kare. The squid I had myself was not cooked properly a bit raw inside and it was not cleaned properly and tasted very ordinary. Our opinion of the food is Cons Over priced for the amount of food and over rated in reviews as this food does not stand out in flavor. Pros The premises are clean and atmosphere good.

We had family visiting from Manila so 8 of us went here for lunch. We ordered a variety of food including 2 sets of the meal for two which consisted of fish steak, prawns, tempura eggplant, fish rolls, soup and rice. Everything was excellent and we were all completely full.

First time here, but very nice experience. Good food, nice ambiance and we felt very welcome too. Barefoot restaurant with lots of nicely decorated tables to choose from. Mostly Seafood and fish in the menu. Had the tubataha salad as appetizer, tuna and seaweed, lots of papaya and mango with cashew. In this combination not common, but still liked it. Shake and Longdrink for 120-150 Pesos fairly priced. Had sizzling seafood and eel adobo. Both nice taste, eel the better choice, portions a bit small though. Also rice should be inclusive, not to be ordered extra. Service charge comes on top also. Fresh fish by weight quiet expensive in my opinion. Half kilo shrimp was 1.540php, which is a lot for Philippines, where you get that for 200php at the market. No wine sold by the glass, only bottle. Think that could be improved. Overall nice experience and for us the much better choice than for instance very busy Ka Inato opposite the street, where I really miss the service and even left yesterday as no one helped us for 20 minutes. Not cheap, but different than the others. We will definitely be back.
