While some enjoyed the friendly service and good main courses, others found the food to be lacking in flavor and texture. The salad bar was a highlight for many, as were the dessert options. The location of the restaurant on the waterfront and the free parking were appreciated by guests. However, some had issues with the booking process and the availability of certain drinks at the bar. Overall, while the experience at The Harvester was generally positive, there were some areas that could be improved upon.
Consistent quality with decent service. I thought the food was good and it's always busy when we went in. Would go back again!

Very enjoyed our meal at the harvester, but I would strongly recommend that they book directly in the restaurant as our booking had not reached them, we were very happy that a table was available for us as the time we wanted, everyone later we would not have been able to get the place as we are fully booked!
The location of this Harvester is great, sitting right on the Port Solent marina waterfront. Free parking is also a bonus. We arrived 15 minutes early, the table wasn't ready so we went to bar for a drink. One disappointment there the bar had run out of Doom Bar bitter and no suitable alternative was available. The table wasn't the greatest, located adjacent to the disabled toilet facility but as the place was very fully, there seemed little point in asking to be relocated. Personally I'd like to think that pre bookings would be given a more favourably located table. The food was very good and the service positive, although a little slow at times. All in all, a nice evening out but things could have been better.
