Was User at The Brass Compass a mag?
We liked the look of this place and walked in without a booking on a Friday night. We arrived just before 6 when it is open for meals, but the bar was open so we had a drink at the bar. The barman, Alan, was happy to chat (he was a local & happy to share knowledge) and it was 6.45 by the time we sat down. We both ordered Salmon which came with chips & salad. Food was OK. The night was made memorable by the enthusiasm... View all feedback.

What User dislikes about The Brass Compass:
Average service, food isn't that great. Hot chocolate was at least okay. You have to go to he counter and order yourself (so if you're expecting a waitress to come to you, don't) The rating is a lie, they don't even have **** apple juice. Screwed up several meals on the table. Overall score = terrible View all feedback.

The restaurant offers street parking and a welcoming entrance. Upon entering, guests can choose between standing or sitting at tables. The service was very friendly. The menu is simple and easy to navigate, making it simple to order. The steak was cooked perfectly, the pasta salad was delicious, the salad was fresh, the chips were tasty, and the Diane sauce was delicious. My uncle thoroughly enjoyed his steak. The prices were reasonable for a steakhouse.

I enjoyed a great offer on coffee cake with a variety of cake options to choose from. Other menu items were affordable and it seemed to be a popular dining spot.

My family, including a baby, stopped at this restaurant for a quick breakfast before heading back home to Portland. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was spacious and able to accommodate larger groups without a reservation. The service was relatively fast and the prices were reasonable. The coffee was excellent. The food was good, with typical breakfast options on the menu. While it may not have been the best breakfast I've ever had, there was nothing wrong with it either.

Family comes together. the personal was great. as if they were chantelle and team. very friendly and attentive. everyone enjoyed their meal. the rib eye was melted in the mouth quality. enjoy the whole experience here. also tailored to our specific needs. be careful. when they ask for cream with their pie lol. very recommended to eat here. had a great laugh and shared all night. we celebrated during the night over birthdays. thank you for all that your personal did. top team.

Hard to rate this place better than Quantities of food were excellent but quality was poor for the price. We had walked the foreshore but everywhere was busy so gave this a try. Best advice would be for the chef to eat out him/herself...before delivering dishes with no comparison to anything known to man.. sorry I do give good reviews. Staff were warm, receptive and helpful.
