What User doesn't like about the retro vibe:
Not a cafe for people looking for good coffee or food this cafe clearly serves a purpose for older locals to socialise so I would not recommend for visitors to Port Elliot to visit. Its menu features basic items that don't feature any local produce nor does it boost freshness or culinary delight. The coffee is poor, but the service seemed friendly enough. Might be a suitable choice for pensioners on a budget. View all feedback.
Very good service and coffee we come once a month for coffee with friends, they also have hand made items for sale.
Often call into Port Elliot during winter time to have a look for the whales and enjoy a bit of wild weather along this bit of coast. Although Port Elliot is a small seaside town it does have several good eating spots and also for coffee. The Retro Vibe is slightly away from pubs and eating houses as you head south along The Strand towards the ocean... not a grand place from the outside so that's why you can easy miss it. Stepping inside is a "step back in time" vinyl records a quietly playing, laminex tables 1960's chairs and an eclectic assortment of all sorts of unusual furniture. The food is first class, fresh and delicious as is the service.. happy smiling faces, and nothing is too much trouble. We left there feeling really happy that we had found the place and that we were made to feel so welcome.

Whist on holidays in the area, we started several of our days here while heading to see the Whales at Basham Beach. We sat inside and enjoyed the warmth on the cold days and outside on the verandah today in the lovely sunshine. The coffees were excellent and to our liking and the homemade, warm savoury scones were delicious. There were so many yummy cakes and slices to choose from. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and service was always promp. We loved the retro feel - it took us back ! You are even able to choose a record and put it on as the background music. The kids would love that experience. Lots of handmade crafts for sale and l was able to purchase some for gifts at the same time. A great cafe experience. Thanks so much.
