Menu

On this website, you will find the complete menu of Rasa Restaurant & Lounge from Port Douglas. Currently, there are 19 dishes and drinks available.

The Niramaya offers a serene setting for dining beside the pool, with a menu that unfortunately falls short on creativity and execution. Despite the beautiful atmosphere, guests were disappointed with the quality of dishes such as the Tempura Coral Trout. In contrast, Rasa Restaurant provided an exceptional dining experience with top-notch food, cocktails, and service. The tranquil ambiance and delicious menu options made for a memorable evening. For those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Port Douglas, Niramaya's restaurant offers a relaxing and welcoming environment with attentive staff and a small but satisfying menu. Overall, while some diners were left unimpressed by the cuisine at The Niramaya, Rasa Restaurant exceeded expectations and left guests eager to return for another meal.

What Ignacio Ornelas dislikes about Rasa Restaurant & Lounge:
I went to use the restaurant and was told it was a new menu and there was no lunch menu, only a very limited range of options. The salmon that I chose was unavailable and I went for an interesting-looking vegetarian cauliflower option. The lovely lady at the front-desk recommended it. What was presented looked okay (small for $19) but the taste was just awful. It seemed to be deep-fried and all I could make out was t... View all feedback.

We just wanted to get away from the main strip of Port Douglas. This is a little gem that is hidden away from everywhere else. Quiet and relaxing, we looked over the pool which looked so inviting but I was not sure that it was open to general public. The restaurant menu and the feel of the restaurant looks so relaxing and welcoming. We chilled on the couches and watched the day go by and would visit again. I hear they have a great couple rooms in the spa, which we hope to visit later this week.

We spent 3 nights at "The Niramaya" for our wedding anniversary and after arriving late in the afternoon decided to eat dinner in-house at the resort restaurant. In a Balinese inspired resort we were expecting some Indonesian inspired dishes on the menu. The setting is pleasant, beside the pool, and we chose an outdoor table. After perusing the surprisingly limited and unimaginative menu, I finally decided on the Tempura Coral Trout with sweet potato and salad. Sadly this was no better than "Fish and Chips" from a local takeaway. The tempura batter should have been light with an almost melt in your mouth consistency, sadly this was not the case and I ended up leaving most of my batter. My husband ordered the steak from the "Specials Board" and although he asked for it to be cooked medium rare, it arrived rare. Each day at breakfast we looked at what was on offer on the menu and for the remaining days of our stay it remained unchanged. Although we enjoyed our stay at The Niramaya we did not eat at the restaurant again during our stay.

Was very nice but disappointed because we went there for set menu lunch and was told they don't have that anymore.

I did not think the food could get better here but with the new chef it has definitely gone up yet another notch! This has seriously got to be the best value lunch in town. That usually means a compromise on food quality, service or portion size but not here. At $29.00 for two courses and a glass of wine I would challenge you to find better anywhere in Australia. We chose outside of the set menu and both our meals were delicious. Probably the standout was the Mussels in an Asian broth, absolutely spectacular. So much so that my wife went back the next day and had the same again. The restaurant is in the grounds of Niramaya so you are away from the traffic noise of Port Douglas. Service on the day was great and my wife found out that the waiter we had was on his first day and she commented that he was even more efficient the next day. This a definite "must do" in PortWe will be heading back soon, this time for dinner. Thanks John and team, see you again soon.
