"A hidden gem for sure! We did a girl's Sunday brunch and everyone enjoyed their food so much! A great menu, staff was very friendly, lots of regulars in and out, indoor and outdoor seating (outdoors is pup friendly). Highly recommend! "Terrible service!! Received my order with the lids not properly closed or package. It resulted in my food wasting out in the bag. When called to complain, I was getting the run around. So I headed back up there to the store and only talked to a worker. The owner would not even come talk to me face to face. Only saying that they are not responsible for the food once the customer has it. I understand if a refund could not be done. Replace food that was not properly packaged. Now I’m out of my money!"

"Irondale, AL is a small town that looks frozen in time. Picturesque storefronts, sleepy residential areas, and a neighborly charm that makes this a pocket of quasi-utopia despite being only 22 minutes from downtown Birmingham. There are two significant features of Irondale, and the first is the Irondale Cafe. It has obviously been expanded from its popularity in the ?Fried Green Tomatoes? film as The Whistle Stop. The original restaurant is still intact with an adjacent building retrofitted as an annex. The chalkboard menu can change depending on what?s available (or sold out). The hours are limited (as of my visit) and people stream in, but the line is kept moving both with serving food and cashing out. Food is served cafeteria style. You pick a meat (or two) and whatever else you want individually to build your meal. Everything I ate was deeee-licious including?you know?their fried green tomatoes. Their catfish and chicken livers were fabulous. Drinks are constantly refilled by a quick and warmly kind server. The other feature is that if you?re a train lover like me, a gigantic Norfolk Southern rail yard and busy mainline funnels through this town, with a parade of trains viewable from a wooden sheltered platform. I got both a Southern food feast and a railroad feast in one trip. Well worth a visit."

"We had a group of nine meet for lunch last week. They were able to accommodate us in a reasonable amount of time and our server had taken care of us previously in a visit for lunch. She is a very professional, great personality, and gets us taken care of quickly. Our food was out in a phenomenal amount of time and was very good. No one had a complaint of any kind. Parking: Even on Sunday when many people go after church for lunch, we have never had a problem getting a parking place. Wheelchair accessibility: A few months ago one of our ladies had broken her leg and was in a wheelchair for a while. She came to lunch with us on one of our visits to O’Charleys. She was easily accommodated, no problem at all.
