A group of four of us stopped here for lunch on the back from Ottawa on the Canada Day long weekend. We had time in the car to figure out where we wanted to go and we settled on Dr. J's based on the reviews. We weren't disappointed. I had wings and Caesar salad (one of the best I have had). What User dislikes about Dr. J's Bbq & Brews:
Three of us came to Dr. J's for drinks and BBQ. Service took forever and drinks sat empty for long periods of time. Food was bland aside from the caesar salad and the BBQ sauce was one dimensional. No drink menu either which is annoying if you don't want one of the 20 drafts your server just had to shoot off for your companions. Won't be returning. View all feedback.
The BBQ chicken sandwich is the best I've ever had, oh my goodness!
Could be bigger in portion Brisket Pulled Pork Platter you only get 2 pieces of small brisket but it is good, the pulled pork was good; could have been a bit more cooked Mac apos;n apos;cheese was good but cold sadly
The ribs were extremely tough and dry, making them difficult to cut. The coleslaw was overly sweet and the portions were very small considering the price. The sausage was a generous portion, but it was lukewarm and also overly sweet.
Dont get it. sweet fries and Mac all great. but pulled pork sandwich had no BBQ flavor at all. had to add BBQ sauce at hone. potato salad no salt/pepper . just dill. took covid taste just to make sure it wasnt me. negative
This restaurant is really delicious! The meat was cooked perfectly and melted in our mouths.
