Was Elena Sorrentino at Bamboo Garden a mag?
We are visiting from Calgary and ordered delivery from this place. The food overall was excellent, the service was friendly, but what really stood out was the salt and pepper squid. Spicy as heck, but hands down the best I have ever had. I would highly recommend Bamboo Garden to anyone! View all feedback.

What Cara McGlynn dislikes about Bamboo Garden:
You walk in and find yourself looking at keft iver food on tables. People with colds serving with hair uncovered. It was just disturbing. Ruined a great day and our appetites. View all feedback.

Pleasantly surprised! We decided to try Bamboo Gardens tonight and given our poor luck finding good Chinese food in the area we didn't have high

I don't believe that the reviews posted for this restaurant reflect what they are now serving. The photos of the dishes that John H. posted are no longer on the menu. They are not offering what most people come to expect from a Chinese restaurant…battered, deep fried dishes with sauces and traditional stir-frys. My wife and I went for lunch to see what they had to offer. The menu is different and limited. We had the fried fish with mango sauce from the appetizer section, which contains 13 items with nothing costing more than $4.50. The portion size was very reasonable for the price, but unfortunately the mango sauce was just from a jar. Some interesting items in the appys section include ginger & almonds, crispy duck, and sesame beef jerky. I am motivated to go back just to try more from the appetizers. The main dishes are noodle and rice noodle offerings, presented three ways as a soup, sauced, or like a Vietnamese bun. I had the ground pork noodles ( ground pork, small fried tofu, bean sprouts, baby bok choy)sauced, which I enjoyed. There was an abundance of noodles and the dish was flavourful. My wife had the chicken noodles as a soup, but found the broth lacking in favour and added chili sauce, soy sauce and black vinegar, present at the table, to punch it up. Most of these dishes are reasonably priced at $7 to $8. Eight combo dishes are also offered that include your chicken, fish, beef or seafood with rice and veggies. Traditional chow mein and fried rice dishes are also available. As i stated in the beginning, if you do not want your "traditional" Chinese fare, which in most of Oceanside is not done that well, then i encourage you to try eating here. The restaurant was not busy at all and I hope that more diners would be willing to try their dishes and share their opinions.
