What User dislikes about Camp 31 Bar-B-Q:
Service was great wait for a table was long had to sit in two groups due to number of diners. Would be better if reservations were accepted on weekends. Food was not bad but all the extra charges for sides was not something I agree with. If a meal comes with two sides you should get two sides not get charged an additional amount. The throwing of peanut shells etc....on floor was not real sanitary in my opinion. Overa... View all feedback.

My husband and I are not big fans of BBQ. But when we heard they had killer fried chicken, we thought we would give it a try. There aren't too many restaurants, other than the usual chains, that serve fried chicken. The restaurant is not very appealing from the outside, but our experience tells us to never judge a book by the cover. The inside had the feel of a small roadhouse which was fun, however it could use a good cleaning. Our server was friendly, but service was slow. I don't think it was his fault, as it seems there weren't enough servers for the steady stream of customers. We both chose the stew as a side an it came as an appetizer. Big, bold, beefy, delicious!!! We had also ordered the onion tanglers. They were fantastic! We hoped the breading on the fried chicken was going to be like the breading on the tanglers, and we were not disappointed. The fried chicken was some of the best we had ever had. The breading was light, and crispy and flavourful. The chicken was meaty and moist. We see from the menu that you can order "just chicken" for take-out and the next time we don't mind driving for over an hour (about 40 minutes one way from south end of Kitchener) we will definitely order the fried chicken for take-out!!The BBQ items, burgers, and natchos that we saw being delivered also looked and smelled delicious!! However, we will stick to the fried chicken.

We had ribs, chicken and wraps. All food was great. Service was excellent. We sat outside on the patio.

If I could rate 1-10 for this very Traditional southern style BBQ house, I'd say service was a 10, food was an honest 7.5, and ambiance was a 10 for authenticity.Fried Chicken was Kentucky style, a bit too crispy but still very good. Ribs were tasty but not quite smokey enough. Mac and cheese was so-so. Corn bread was wonderful. For our table of 10, the Place was packed, but Our food came out very quick which was awesome. Server was outstanding. Tap Beer was tasty. We'll be back on our next Kayak trip for sure. Thx
