Some mentioned slow service even with few customers present, and changes to the menu post-pandemic. Positive notes included delicious food, fun atmosphere for celebrations, and good value for the price paid. A couple of diners highlighted the unique and tasty pressed sushi dishes, recommending them as a standout menu item. The overall experience seemed to vary depending on individual preferences and expectations.
My experience at KINKA IZAKAYA NORTH YORK was fantastic. I had the pleasure of enjoying their sushi, salad, and beef udon. Each dish showcased the exquisite artistry of Japanese cuisine. The sushi was fresh and flavorful, the salad was crisp and delightful, and the beef udon was both hearty and rich in taste. The staff was warm and welcoming, and the ambiance enhanced the dining experience. Overall, I was truly impressed with my dining experience and highly recommend it to fellow enthusiasts of Japanese cuisine.
I'm never disappointed in the food; however, the service is the SLOWEST EVER! Although we weren't in a rush on a Wednesday evening, it was a full house. They were definitely understaffed. They welcome everyone with a pleasant greeting and bid you farewell with lively pleasantries as well.
Really enjoyed the sashimi salad and the assorted sushi and the yellowfin tuna was amazing. The karage chicken was just ok.
My dining partner and I came to this restaurant for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, with only two other customers present, and only two more customers came in before we left. Despite the lack of customers, the service was disappointingly slow. My meal arrived a good 10 minutes before my companion's meal (gyu don) arrived, which was disappointing. The lunch menu has changed significantly since before the pandemic, now featuring mostly pressed sushi, curries, and donburi style dishes, all at a higher price point. While my main dish tasted good, the salad was overly dressed and the soup was excessively salty. It is unclear if the restaurant still offers a loyalty program, as we were not offered one and had both forgotten our partially filled cards. With many other restaurants in the area, I do not plan on returning to this one anytime soon.
I went to this restaurant with friends to celebrate a birthday. The food was excellent in terms of quality but a little expensive. The service was friendly, but we had to reorder some dishes because they forgot our order. I recommend avoiding the 7 Samurai drinks as they are weak on alcohol. The atmosphere was nice and we had a good time. I would return for the food.
