Just did daughter's wedding over lunch. Super fun and pretty accommodating but an overwhelming yet subtle push to have us out before evening setup. But I guess that's to be expected. Lucky for them I was the only heavy drinker. Of course the grounds are world class as is the cuisine in general, even a set meal for 100. What User dislikes about Deep Cove Chalet:
My wife and children had their birthday celebration at the Deep Cove Chalet. The evening started off well with a nice table by the fireplace and attentive service. However, things took a turn for the worse when the hostess began lecturing us and reprimanding our children for giggling. We were asked to control their noise levels, which was embarrassing and ruined the atmosphere. The food was average and the decor seem... View all feedback.

First, the setting for the restaurant is peaceful. Lots of windows looking out to the ocean. The hostess and wait staff are professional yet friendly and casual. Amazing menu for lunch typically not found in a restaurant. We had three courses and each course was presented perfectly. The sauce with the Halibut was exquisite. No question the Chalet is the best place for great food and wines on the peninsula.
Our fist visit to to this location. The seaside location on a very warm evening was magical; a pre-dinner beverage in the gardens prior to engaging dinner in the dining room was suggest by our Server. A very extensive and detailed Menu did offer some initial concern as to how the Kitchen would perform given the very large array of menu options. The food and the presentation was exceptional from Appetizers to Mains to desserts. Our foursome selected a very large array of Menu items; all of which was served in a timely and professional manner.
Friends invited us to join them for dinner at Deep Cove Chalet and what a pleasant surprise. There is absolutely nothing negative I can say about this establishment. The personnel, the food and the view were all outstanding. The delicious food was enhanced by eating it off of fine china. The clams in a light cream sauce have now become my favorite, and there is enough to share. Two of the party had the halibut and the fourth had the coq au vin, which was definately too much for her appetite and she shared it with her and my husband. The clam chowder was one of the best I've tasted in Victoria. Not too heavy and with lots of clams. Although they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays, that still leaves 5 days to take the opportunity for a unique experience. If you are going to be in the area, check this place out. You will not be disappointed.
Victoria is a city well known for its bad selection of fine dining restaurants. The Deep Cove is a gem of a place in a sea of mediocrity. This is excellent French food prepared very well. As well It is a spectacular setting with beautiful gardens in charming historic building. Yet it is the food that keeps us coming back with great classics and beautiful salads. Their food is always consistent and wonderful with great attention to detail. The owner and his wife are lovely people who always greet us. I can't understand any of the bad reviews.
