"We wanted to try as many meats as possible, so we went with the assistant (Roast-Rind, Cheddar, smoked onion, horseradish sauce-Focaccia-Brot and beef baron (two beef patties, echdar, smoked onions, pommes, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, Mayoan beans and brioche beans). The Bratbeef of the assistant was tastefully and deliciously fed. The onion and the horse sauce really brought the whole sandwich together! The taste of the cattle baron was fresh and juicy; try a beautiful burger. The brioche bungalows were a big compliment! As far as the sides are concerned, we had rosemary garlic fries with roasted garlic Mayoli and a salad with a housevinaigrette. The fries were fried in beef and were the best fries we ever had. Super soft while still a crunchy, the frits of our dreams and the garlic Mayoli was addicted! The salad was as expected and tasted fresh. For drinks we decided on the craftsmanship sodas (orange dream and ginger-ale). While it had a lot of sugar, the man has the feeling of great haha. The place itself feels extremely secret and everything in the shop was made by the owners (from the table to the huge sign outside. The staff is always so nice and helpful when you have questions about meat (reminder that there is a butcher shop!! If you are near Norfolk and ODU/Ghent, definitely visit Pendulum for your lunch Special!"

"I'll always give Alkaline 5 stars. The food is always top notch. We come here regularly for the tonkatsu and shoyu Ramen. The Asian sticky wings are so huge and delicious (not spicy but super flavorful). Also they have a wonderful variety of Oozlefinch beers. Finishing the meal with the miso butter cake is a must!"
