Was a good place to eat and sample some traditional Sri Lankan food. Service was friendly by the owners but they could do with a professional waiter. Food was full of flavour! Only complaint was the devilled prawns. 6 of the smallest you've ever seen for $26 was not great value. Due to the size they were also over cooked and rubbery and left me peckish after the meal. What User dislikes about Spice Garden:
Nice to have an option of inside or outside dining. Food could have been warmer when it came to the table. Would be nice if you could order roti while continuing to peruse the menu. View all feedback.

We ordered vegetarian main courses- the eggplant, paneer and chickpeas were perfectly cooked, highly recommended!
My daughter and I ordered the EGGPLANT MOJU $22 Twice-cooked eggplant, sautéed with onion, mustard vinegar with a twist of cinnamon GF VE * thinking it would be a lovely mild vegetarian dish. We ordered the yellow rice thinking it would be a nice accompaniment. My husband had the lamb curry$23 and my daughter's partner DEVILLED CHICKEN/BEEF/PORK/LAMB $23 and some roti which he left uneaten as they weren't nice. We waited for ages, I hate to think how long it would have been if it had been full. My husband loved the lamb, the mixed curry was so so my daughters partner said. BUT, the eggplant was a disaster!! (a) it was cold but there was no indication on the menu that it is a cold dish. (b) it was just shreds of eggplant skin with no flesh (c) it was full of uncooked onion and huge green chillies. It would be the worst dish I have ever been served and only ate half of it. It was difficult to chew and you had to gulp to swallow it. I could wait to get out. We told the lady in charge that they should indicate that it is a cold dish or get the wait person to explain what it is before someone is caught again. My husband cooks a superb eggplant dish which I love so it was more than disappointing.
Well done guys. This is my second review. Have been countless numbers of times now. I like the addition of the mackerel fish curry. Suggest you have this with the lentils and devil potatoes. From the short eats, recommend the fish patties and fish cutlets. Sounds like they will get their licence soon, until then BYO. Service is getting better as front staff get more experience. What is most remarkable here is the home made taste of the food. You will not get excessive oils or cream use here that you might get in a run of the mill takeaway.
