Contribute Feedback What Doug Becker likes about East End Hub:
Thought we would go back to East End Hub for a nice lunch. We were certainly very happy with our meals I had the Spicy Cous Cous with pumpkin and my wife had the Achini Balls yum yum. We decided we need coffee too and I must say up there with the best. To all the staff here who were very friendly thank you keep up the good work. I would definitely recommend this place a loverly meal View all feedback.
What Carter Christiansen doesn't like about East End Hub:
Here's a tip: when ordering coffee, one would like it hot (not luke warm) and served reasonably promptly with a smile. I do not care if there is a hand-brushed picture of a sunset in the chocolate powder, it is coffee, not a Van Gough. Disappointing also to hear staff bullying other staff and not pitching in to help on the floor. We won't be returning, there are plenty of other cafes in Newcastle with exceptional foo... A great day for a lunch catch up. My pearl cous cous salad with pumpkin, currants and haloumi was very tasty and the portion was just right. My friend had the beef and soba noodle stir fry which was also delicious. The weather was warm...so it was nice to sit and chat over coffee with no pressure to leave. Did not disappoint.
Very good caffe. well presented, clean and good service. waiter very professional, but entertaining. made table sets and pencils for children. the children loved it. very good food, just the right amount and very good quality fresh ingredients. Eier cooked perfectly. coffee very...good can't be mistaken. only the correct balance of coffee to milk. perfect morning coffee. very attentive. I thought of everything. great place.
I saw several reviews mentioning bad service. Thankfully that wasn't our experience, so maybe they've had time to work out a few kinks at this place. We did get food mistakenly brought to our table a couple of times that wasn't ours, but the service itself was really friendly and personable. The food was also quite good. My husband had a sort of paella with fish and shrimp that was both light and filling. I had a soft chicken taco that was satisfying, savory, but with a bit of sweetness as well. I'd love to go back and try something else as well. I'd definitely order the taro waters again though, so good!
Let me start by raving about the quality of food - beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. It was a difficult job choosing from the menu and everything that arrived from the kitchen looked and tasted sensational!BUT the staff were sour and unhelpful- when we asked to place an additional drinks order, one of the waitresses delivering drinks to our table said "oh - you'll have to ask her and motioned to another waitress."We had a few issues with a meal not arriving as ordered, and a waitress spilling milk on a customer. What could have been resolved simply and (I believe) easily with an apology and meal replacement (or offering an alternative meal) and removing the items from our bill the front of house manager charged for the meal and drink. When the issue was raised at the time of settling the bill, she indicated we should take it up with the young, apologetic and very embarrassed waitress. The wait staff blamed being understaffed for being unable to rectify the nuts placed in the meal (when available for order without, and ordered without). And the issue of spilling milk over 2 people remained unresolved for weeks, with the manager and restaurant owner denying responsibility for paying dry cleaning of clothing and suede handbag replacement. It has now been resolved but I am really disappointed to say that the customer service experience was like a skit from Faulty Towers and despite sensational food, we will not return. And so instead of telling everyone about the fabulous experience despite some mishaps that were handled well by the front of house staff, I am finding myself talking about the delicious food destroyed by hideous customer service. The front of house staff, management staff and business owner could learn a thing or two about customer service....
Staying at the Novotel we had a quick breakfast here. Staff very friendly, including when I popped by to check the menu the day before. Coffee good. Toastie (ham, cheese and chilli sauce) excellent. Partner pronounced fruit toast very good though maybe a bit thickly cut. Home made jams a nice touch
