This restaurant is about expiriance as much as its about classy artistically served gourmet dishes. Food was out of this world and the service impeccable. It's a bit on the pricy side but worthwhile. View all feedback.
What DavidC EG doesn't like about Nobu Fifty Seven:
Been to 4 Nobus around the world in the past month. London Singapore Dubai and now New York. NYC worst of the bunch. Staff could not care less. Food was not even close to Dubai or Singapore. I east 3-4 times a week in Nobu Singapore so have a. Solid comparison NYC is just en experience Japanese restaurant and nothing morne View all feedback.
I was charged for Yellowtail but it was not delivered with the order.
The food was great. It was still warm and smelled amazing. However, it's way too overpriced.
The food was Superb.. everything was amazing the packaging, delivery time, and food freshness
The food is everything you've heard. Exceptional! I had the black cod miso and a shrimp tempura handroll. The handroll was one of the best I've ever had. My companion loved the chef select sushi platter. The donuts were a winner for desert. It was tough to get last minute reservations but I'm so glad that we did.
What happened? For more than 20 years i have been visiting Nobu on my yearly visits to NYC. 2 yrs ago I was happy to enjoy “my” wonderful Omakase lunch (that time at Nobu57) and last year I had not been able to come for once. So this year I happily booked again. What a huge disappointment that was. Apparently someone decided to shove everything in bento boxes (one box for the three cold dishes and one for the warm dishes that are shoved almost on top of the earlier box in a rush (while you're still eating). Half of it is cold when you get around to it. The beef was very unappetizing as a result. We took half a bite. What a waste; end of an era. This way the dishes do not receive the attention they deserve. The (normally lovely black cod with miso was lukewarm, overdone and the normally lovely skin was bitter and disgusting. It was a rushed affair where signature dishes are shoved down your throat. So so sad to conclude that Nobu is now just an expensive formula. In NYC it is now poissible to eat absolutely delicious Asian food. Cheaper, better, cooler.
