El Santo - New Westminster

First time visit. Went with work colleagues. We did the trio of guacomole and salsas. They were served fast and fresh and they were oh so good.I had the Chicken con Pollo. The tiny soft tortillas were very fresh and the chicken, chorizo mix although it looked a bit unappetizing was delish. I would like order a side vegetable of some sort next time and a wine. I had a lovely cranberry, club soda, lime spritz which was very refreshing. Very fresh food....really good.

This is not the first time we've been to El Santo, but it maybe our last. Sadly, although it's probably the best "Mexican inspired" restaurant I've ever been to, it's become a victim of it's success. Busy and noisy with a live loud band making the dining experience poor. Due to the full capacity of the restaurant, and the open style kitchen, the air conditioning was very ineffective. There appear to be an abundance of staff, but are very poorly trained, disinterested, and slow. The food is still very flavorful, and well portioned.

We visited el santo last night. The place was hopping on a Tuesday night. We had an exceptional meal, guided through the extensive menu by our charming server. Every recommendation was clearly described and a hit for all diners. We'll be back!

El Santo is located in downtown New Westminster. A new interesting upscale Mexican restaurant serving tasty dishes more like Tapas portions. Four of us had Dinner sharing various dishes with wine that we all enjoyed.

Excellent food and service, we found that along with the presentation that it made for an enjoyable evening out
