Galatoire's 33 Bar and Steak combines the best of both worlds from the regular Galatoire menu. Must-try dishes include the loaded crab yvonne and crab ravigote. While some found the food lackluster for the price, others praised the crab cake and cocktail selection. The ambiance received mixed reviews, with some enjoying the warm, dim steakhouse feel over the bright main restaurant. Service was attentive for most, although some experienced neglect from their server. Overall, Galatoire's 33 Bar and Steak offers a varied dining experience with standout dishes and friendly staff, making it a hit among both locals and tourists.

Since we had already eaten at multiple spots throughout the day, we decided to only order drinks and a few shared dishes. Our server kindly informed us that any of the entrees could be ordered in half portions, so we opted for the shrimp etouffee and the crabmeat ravigote. The warm French bread served with our meal was a nice touch, especially since the crab dish was more of a dip than a full entree. It consisted of a mound of crab meat in Alfredo sauce, which was tasty but lacked texture variation. It would have been overwhelming if served as a full portion, but as a half portion shared between three people, it was enjoyable. The etouffee was decent but nothing extraordinary. We also tried the Tabasco Brussels sprouts, which were a standout dish. Crispy fried with capers and a deliciously spicy-sweet sauce, they were a hit at our table. The restaurant had an extensive cocktail and wine menu, which we appreciated. Overall, the service was friendly and informative. Our server seated us at a table near the window for prime people-watching, and offered excellent menu recommendations.

I went to this restaurant for a friend's birthday dinner. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The maple leaf duck was delicious, perfectly cooked but could use a bit more salt for flavor. The daiquiri was strong and tasty, with just the right balance of alcohol. Overall, it was a wonderful fine dining experience on Bourbon Street. I highly recommend stopping by if you have the opportunity. Keep in mind that there is a dress code and reservations are highly recommended as the restaurant can get busy.

Food extremely lackluster for the price. Most delicious item we had was the crab cake but it had bits of shell in it. We also really enjoyed a red blend that we tried. Steaks were overdone and in an almost caramel-tasting sauce that was too sweet for my taste; the sides arrived lukewarm. Ambiance could have been nice if a table full of tourists in tank tops and reeking of Bourbon Street hadn’t been seated next to us in our business casual/evening dress attire. Our service was good- not rushed but attentive. Our experience wasn’t horrible but for almost $300 we most likely will not return.

Galatores is legend in the New Orleans dining scene. It was a wise move to create a second, less pretentious restaurant with the same high quality food and service. Design wise it has elements of another 33, club 33 at Disneyland. I asked the host for the house cocktail. He gave a great description of how the sazarec came to be. Very easy going down and enjoyed it so I had a second. What's impressive about 33 is the honesty of the staff. In my crab cake the server Adam said its actually Maryland crab washed in Louisiana spices. Then the steak. Adam recommended the steak special which was one of the most tender and fulfilling steaks I had. The staff listens; asked for a small serving of onion rings since I was dining alone. The meal went nicely with the cab I paired it with. The original Galatores is a classic. But you can get the same fine food and service at 33.

The best birthday dinner. To be a so quiet and elegant and then to have food of that great quality is truly amazing! May have been the best bonein filet I have ever had
