After a long walk up the Valley, we were very glad to find the refuge open for lunch. It really has a spectacular setting at the head of the valley looking down over beautiful scenery and up to breath-taking peaks. What User doesn't like about Refuge des Drayeres:
This refuge is set in a lovely valley. We ended up having two nights there as we had to return unexpectedly as we were caught out in a storm. The Refuge manager could not have been nicer or more accommodating and quickly warmed us up with soup and a delicious omelette. He runs a tight ship and it works. Simple and good.
