Was Larry Wagenaar at Freddie's Tavern a mag?
I had a wonderful experience during my first visit to this restaurant. It's a classic small-town tavern with a charming atmosphere. I sat at the bar and ordered the cod dinner, which was hand-dipped and perfectly cooked—not overly breaded, and absolutely delicious! What Sarah Bowen dislikes about Freddie's Tavern:
I'm staying in Mt. Pleasant for a few days and thought I’d treat myself to some chicken. I ordered the broasted chicken from Freddy's Tavern, but unfortunately, it didn't meet my expectations. The chicken was overcooked, as dry as a campfire, and utterly unseasoned—there wasn't even a sprinkle of salt on it. How do you mess up such a simple dish? I had a wonderful experience with the service provided by Kaley! The menu offered a wide variety of choices, along with an excellent selection of domestic and craft beers. The creamy kielbasa soup was absolutely delicious. I also appreciated the daily specials they have. I will definitely be returning!

The chicken was overcooked, as dry as a campfire, and utterly unseasoned—there wasn't even a sprinkle of salt on it. How do you mess up such a simple dish? I also tried the baked potato with cheese, which was also lacking in flavor, though it was decent enough. I had their potato chicken soup as well, and once again, I found it completely unseasoned. Honestly, it felt like Freddie must be an old-fashioned Englishman from the 1400s. A little salt would have gone a long way!
