Contribute FeedbackBaton Rouge disappointed some customers with its new reservation policy, claiming to no longer accept bookings from Open Table. The downtown location also received criticism for limited menu options, slow service, and subpar presentation of dishes. However, not all reviews were negative, with some patrons praising the perfectly cooked calamari appetizer and tasty dishes like the Santa Fe chicken. Overall, opinions were mixed on the restaurant's quality and service, with some diners recommending a visit while others suggested exploring alternatives in downtown Montreal. Baton Rouge could benefit from improvements in consistency and customer service to match its reputation at other locations.
I dined with colleagues. The Santa Fe chicken I ordered was nicely presented and was tasty. However, this restaurant needs a renovation. There are multiple bench seats where the leather is torn
Baton Rouge call me at for my reservation to say that they do not accept reservations from Open Table any more . Please let me know if this is true This left me in a panic to make another reservation at extreme short notice
For started the menu was very limited, the prices not very affordable according to what there is in our plate that are understood with our meal. the ribs raised average if I compare elsewhere, without say of name.. the worst was the salad caesar with pieces of rust and soft vinaigrette overette for more to the bill but I was not entitled to fries or something else. without bacon for me it's not caesar salad, finally after salads that I've been brought, nothing had changed. For compensated I was offered a dessert or tea coffee that I didn't want ..j, asked to remove it on the bill.. it did twice that I went to the red stick, and it will be the last..I'm not the kind to criticize usually.. but there it was too much. Besides, I had to ask for a house salad at the waiter.at the thirteenth caesar I asked for a house, but he didn't take it into consideration
Terrible experience pre-event in Montreal. Left before food orders were complete. Three servers each not knowing what the other was doing yet claiming to work as a team. minutes waiting for a soft drink and a wine to arrive- it did not. Rude servers each handing off to another without doing anything. Was not even busy at Left and no one even cared to ask why. BATON RUDE
It was a subpar meal. I have loved all my previous experiences at their West Island location. It was my first time at their downtown one. It was a Saturday evening after an event at the bell center. We arrived at The restaurant was nearly empty, tables of about guests, and a few couples. Most of the staff was sitting and chatting in a booth at the end of the restaurant near the kitchen. They seemed annoyed when we arrived. It was my hope to extend my evening with my mom following the bell center show for her birthday. She ordered a French onion soup and fries, and I ordered a prime rib (which is always my go to cut at their other location). My mom had commented that the fact that mozzarella cheese was being used would make the cheese clump up rather than the expected result, but the waiter reassured her that it was well appreciated by other patrons The meal arrived fairly quick. The presentation was poor. My steak was very fatty and was a deep shade of brown. My moms soup was overly salty and the cheese had indeed clumped up into a gelatinous blob. The fries seemed to have been left out and reheated for us. My steak at least tasted decent. min after receiving our meals the waiter comes to check on us, my mom gave him an honest review of her order, gave a heartfelt sorry, but nothing came of it. I was surprised it took so long for him to come back, especially since so few patrons were there I guess i have been spoiled at their DDO location for years,I have come to expect more based on this from the chain. I have come to realize that their standards for quality, presentation and service are location specific rather than part of the chain philosophy. With so many wonderful other restaurants to try out in downtown Montreal, I will skip it next time around or go to their superior version in DDO
