Dinosaur Cafe, located in the back of a dive bar, offers phenomenal and affordable Cajun cuisine in Missoula. The menu features unique options like the Gumbolaya and various Po' Boys. While the atmosphere may not be for everyone, the food is well-spiced and delicious. The communal seating creates a social setting, perfect for mingling. Some downsides include the lack of a card reader and occasional item unavailability. Overall, Dinosaur Cafe is a local gem, serving excellent food and offering a fun, divey vibe that shouldn't be missed. Don't be fooled by the exterior; true Cajun flavors await in the back of the bar.

Was User at Dinosaur Cafe a mag?
Good flavor on all the food I tried. Wish hushpuppies were served with tartersauce.Prices and quanity were good. Be prepared to talk to people. The locals and the bartenders are always friendly here. View all feedback.

What Antoinette Pacocha dislikes about Dinosaur Cafe:
It's super casual and self serve in the back of a dive bar but the food is phenomenal and dirt cheap by Missoula standards. Gumbo and Jambalaya are $7 for a big bowl with fresh french bread. Daily specials and a menu of po boys and homemade soup. Don't like the atmosphere? Get it to go. The food has just the right amount of spice. If you don't like spicy food go with the po' boy. Pretty great first visit (finally! to the Dinosaur Cafe. Bar up front, order window in the back. There's plenty communal style seating along with standing spots to throw back some grub in the back and tables and bar tops up front. While I was bummed they ran out of shrimp, the catfish poboy hit the spot. Great bread, perfect fry, tasty tomatoes and Louisiana hot sauce on the tables. It's hard to find a poboy coming correct outside of the southeast but man, this one was perfect! The gumbolaya was a nice combo of gumbo jambalaya which was also tasty but I'd try the gumbo straight-up next time. All in all a great local, divey vibe with excellent food, TVs, and affordable food drink. Definitely recommend!!

It is super casual and even serve in the back of a dipping, but eating is phenomenal and dirt cheap by missoula standards. gumbo and jambalaya are $7 for a large bowl with fresh French brot. daily specials and a menu of po young and homemade suppe. You don't like the atmosphere? eating has exactly the right amount of seasoned. If you don't like spicy eating, go with the po' boy.

Stick with the Jambalaya and Gumbo that they can serve immediately. Don't bother with other items (like the Jamaican chicken sandwich in the pic) which can take them an hour to make and are mediocre at best.

Missoula's most underrated spot. Amazing food and huge portions. Fantastic atmosphere. A huge must when downtown.
