Despite some mixed experiences, overall reviews for the Freehouse restaurant in Minneapolis are positive. Some customers had issues with reservations and long waits, while others praised the food, atmosphere, and service. One reviewer recommended Freehouse over The Loop, mentioning it was warm, with good food and a great atmosphere. Another reviewer enjoyed their experience but warned of the transition to a nightclub setting on weekends. Additionally, there were concerns about staff not wearing masks, despite city mandates. A group of Iowa Hawkeye fans had a great time at The Loop, the local fan club bar, especially enjoying the outstanding service during a game. Another reviewer had a good time on New Year's Eve with quick service and tasty food and drinks. Overall, Freehouse and The Loop seem to offer unique experiences for different preferences, with positives and negatives to take into consideration.

We had a group of 4 Iowa Hawkeye fans and learned that The Loop is the Twin Cities Hawkeye fan club bar. The Hawkeyes were playing Richmond in the 1st round of the NCAA Men 's Basketball tourney that afternoon and we decided to check it out. We arrived around 2pm and learned that Happy Hour was just getting started. Drinks and appetizers were available at a discounted price and the service (Nicole) was OUTSTANDING. T... What Kimberly Ebert dislikes about Loop Bar & Restaurant:
there was a table that was exceptionally loud and disturbed all the time. although we had reservations, no one has confirmed us so that I approached the server to inform them that we had reservations and they said "sit everywhere", so we have. then we waited a very long time to get menus. so long that we decided not to enjoy a full meal there. Sent at 5:45 clock on New Year's eve- great mood with football and hockey games on the tw. was not busy when we were there but busy. eating was good- had cheese curds and shrimp tacos. eating and drinks came out quickly. the service was okay. it was a good choice for the night!

It was a great experience and we could have stuck for a post-dinner drink, but we were rushed to get up from our table to make space for the “dance” floor, because this place obviously turns around 10:00 a.m. at the weekend into a nightclub. I recommend, but be sure to drink before the club goers arrive. lol

Looks like a funny place, but they shouldn't be open. it was crowded and just say a sign “seat yourself” with nowhere to check. I am sure it is a personal problem, so many at the moment, but if they have a reservation for a group, they must be able to wait a table for them.

The Hawkeyes lost the game, however, everything else that afternoon was super. We will return to The Loop on our next trip to the Cities. It was great to be with Hawkeye fans in Gopher country.
