Public service announcement from a fat man who LOVES Asian food. Stop ordering crappy chinese from the instant woks. (Where they pull frozen 'chicken ' out of a freezer and heat it up) Go to Cafe East. Google it, get real chicken, not gristle batter. It costs the same as crappy Chinese, but it is GOOD Chinese. We ordered take out from here, and it was not what I expected, I didn't really like the food.
I came here with the family on Thursday We got the crab Rangoon for an appetizer It was different, but I like it with the lemon coconut sauce.
I just left this amazing restaurant. The food was great. I had the Mandarin Chicken and Shrimp fried rice and it was the best Chinese food ever in Metairie. I been looking for some good Chinese food here since I moved here from New Orleans and I have found it. The food brought me back to the Chinese food I use to get before Katrina. I will be back and I'm looking forward to trying other meals in this facility.
I really enjoyed eating at Cafe East. I liked the decor, the service was friendly and we didn't have to wait at all to be seated on a Sunday. The food was great and I'm not a Chinese food fan. The reason I gave the resturant a 4 is because they had a limited selection for non alcoholic drinks. Overall, I was truly pleased with the food, the service especially not having to wait ro be seated on a Sunday : . I'm looking forward to planning a girls outing here really soon. This place is a well kept secret because while the restaurant was not full, there were numerous take out orders being filled.
