Bell Hilltop take away - Maryborough

The chips taste fresh from being cooked in new oil. The steak portion is huge and delicious. We are very pleased and plan to return. Thank you.

This restaurant is absolutely wonderful! The staff are incredibly friendly and cheerful. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. I will definitely be returning.

Visiting while on family holiday, with mob of fish and chip aficionados.Situated in easily accessible small shop centre. Parking off street and plenty of it. Wheelchair accessible. Very friendly front counter chap, and equally nice staff out the back, one of which ended up doing the cooking. Good range of seafood, and normal takeaway options ... And yes, they do multi packs. Unfortunately zero locally sourced fish, which is a big shame when you're a few kilometres away from one of the world's best sources of seafood. At least they were aware of where their stuff came from though. Our fish and chip reviews are always flavoured early based upon whether the establishment throws in a piece of lemon or two ... and whether they use those awful styrene containers. This place gains on one count, but loses on another. No lemon, but served in shallow cardboard tray with white paper bag, well sealed. The loss cancels the gain. So, there were 5 of us, but their biggest pack was for 4. Usually places will make up the extra pieces at a subsidised rate. The whole rationale of multi packs is to encourage folks to bulk buy after all. Here though extras were charged at the full rate, so our 5th fish and chips serving was menu priced. Again, the gain offering multi packs was cancelled by the loss. The pack came with 4 pieces of calamari, and I thought it would be interesting to see if they put in the 5th one. Nope. Luckily the 5th member of our party wasn't fussed about missing out. Serving size was average, although the serving of chips was well below par, despite extra having been paid for. Flavour was good, and the calamari didn't come with bonus elastic, as sometimes happens. Scores around the table gave the place an average of 3.5 stars ... but we'll knock it up to 4 because they were nice people!!

Our loss was Maryborough's gain. A local family sea change adventure has resulted in the relocation of a great barista & confident foodie to Maryborough's Bell Hilltop Take away at Queensland.Do yourself a favour & take your loved one to share the BBB Burger & enjoy the coffee.I always come here with the family when visiting the town.
