The Second Cup location at Markville Mall has received mixed reviews from customers. Some have complained about the poor service and lack of knowledge among staff, while others praised the cleanliness of the store and the friendliness of the staff. One customer had a negative experience with the franchise owner, who was unhelpful and blamed the customer for unclear communication. On the other hand, another customer enjoyed attending a workshop at the location and appreciated the efficient and friendly staff. Overall, opinions about this Second Cup location are divided, with some customers recommending it and others advising against visiting.

Served me a muffin that had an ingredient in it that had turned moldy. Proceeded to be rude to me because I was trying to point it out to them and get my money back discreetly. Was told it was green carrot and that I was trying to get my money back for something that I took a bite out of.

I was a regular customer at Second Cup prior to my move to the United States about a year ago. I was shocked and appalled at the service/interaction I had with your staff at Markville Mall today. I had gone there around 11/11:30am this morning to order my favourite drink, a honey vanilla tea latte. I literally have thought about this drink since I've moved as nowhere else makes it. I went into the store front and it was empty. There was no staff member in sight or at the register. After looking around, I found a young lady in the corner on her phone. She quickly put it away and asked how she could help me. I asked for a honey vanilla tea latte, and this was response, "we have a vanilla bean latte, and honey is over there". That was not what I asked for, and if she was remotely clued into how anything tastes, why would I want honey in my coffee/latte? I patiently told her that I would like a 'honey vanilla tea latte', so then proceeds to say, they do not offer it. I agree, this item is not on the printed menu, but this is certainly an item I've had literally OVER 50 times from Second Cup. She made no efforts to ask any of her fellow colleagues (wherever they were) if Second Cup offered it or if someone else knew how to make it. The debit machine had run out of paper and she had to wait until her manager came back to refill it. Such a simple task, yet she couldn't do it, and I had to waste more time in the store. When her manager came by, she told him I had asked for a honey vanilla tea latte. They both looked at me like I had horns and a tail. He said, "just make a vanilla latte and add honey". Again, that's not what I asked for. I told him, it is a 'tea latte'. He then goes, "oh you should have said tea latte". I literally said "HONEY VANILLA TEA LATTE" 4 times to the girl and twice to him. He was rude and made no attempts at apologizing or educating her staff about this drink. To make it easier for her, I ordered a London Fog, which was not as delicious as I remember it being because I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth from my experience at this location. I reached out to my friend who works at another Second Cup location and he said they still offer it, just that it is not on a menu. He then told me that to never go to the Second Cup location at Markville as they have poor service/products, and the new manager/management there is poor. I agree with everything he said. Do not waste your time or money at this location. There's one on Markham Main St and 2 around the Hwy 7 and Warden intersection.

I went to this location to attend a card making workshop. Though the place was very small and very busy, it never felt crowded. No one interrupted the workshop. There were some onlookers watching from a distance though. Even though it's located on busy Main Street the traffic noise never became an issue. Parking is available in the garage, which is convenient on rainy days. The staff were very friendly and efficient.

This coffee shop serves the best flat white in Markham! The staff are very friendly and knowledgable. Every part of the store is clean. The pastries were always fresh!

This is a nice place for a cup of tea or coffee, you can get little treats and other drinks, the staff are great and the price is average.
