After having many Canadian food, French food, and fast food, we decided to go for something simple, and we selected this restaurant. The name was "Congee Queen," but it's not only for congee. What User dislikes about Congee Queen:
This was the first restaurant we were heading to after driving to Toronto from Chicago. The food was fresh and tasty, just as we were hoping for. When eating in a restaurant called Congee we had to try this as well. Also this was good, we had nothing to complain. Roasted duck and pork is always good. Six grain congee too. Chili turnip is the best version I've had so far. Prices are right and the interior is nice.
Went with my family for chinese food. This was my first time and I was surprised with the quality of food and service. Delicious dishes well made.
Went to this restaurant for dinner after a long day of meeting. Got there around 5:55pm and was seated immediately. Given menues and waited to be served. Many servers were around and saw me, even saw when i put the menues down and ready to order. But they ignored me and my wife, a filipina woman. They helped and served all other people around me, but not me. My wife went to the washroom briefly, came back, and still not seved. It was about 6:15pm when I had enough and left. I have been to this particular location many times, even when you have to wait for a table.No issues with service before.Very ignorant people. Never had that happen before. VERY VERY MAD!
If you don't mind lining up for a table, especially around dinner time, the food is good and portion is generous.
The dining room was big and very nicely decorated. We were greeted and taken to our table. We opted to sit out on the patio as the dining room air conditioning was very low and within minutes my wife and I started shivering. There several others out on the patio which by the way was private and very well decorated as well. The only problem was that once our food arrived. we never saw any of the servers again to top up our tea. We then waited for 15 minutes until we went to the dining room to ask for our bill. It was not that busy inside. !The food was plentiful and came out hot and the taste was good.
