This is the best chicken fettuccine alfredo I have ever had! I absolutely love it. I always order it, and it never disappoints. I highly recommend it to family and friends. Thank you. View all feedback.
What User dislikes about Socrates Greek Taverna:
that was the worst Greek food I had. the huh was hard as a rock the kartoffels were terrible, they didn't even have pita brot. I get really better Greek food at the food dish in the shopping center. this was earlier a really good restaurant it went downhill in all the years that they lost my business. View all feedback.
We dined here on a Sunday night and it was not busy at all. The chicken souvlaki was nothing like it used to be. The potato and rice were flavourless. The best part of this meal was the greek dressing! My husband ordered Lamb chops and then had to get the cooks to re-cook it because it was raw in the middle. So he sat there waiting for his food, while the 4 of us continued. No compensation, free dessert or sorry :( Anyways, for $145.00 the meals were just dull and boring. Its too bad because prior to the renovation, this was a great restaurant. I would not go back here.
Take out is always good and usually very fast. They don't give you much chicken but there is a lot of rice which is always good. Good portions for the price and tasty!
The waitress was not very attentive to our needs. She didn't ask if we wanted more coffee, wine, dessert or anything else when our meal. The pita bread was extra. I have never been to a Greek restaurant where the pita was extra. We had to find her for salt and pepper. She was sitting at a booth. There are bars on rhe windows which made us feel uncomfortable. Food was good.
So many poor reviews recently. Starting with the updated interior. It is a marked improvement over dusty plants covering the celling and tacky Greek items around the room. The colours are indeed dark: burgundy celling, black suspended pergola celling drops, and a darker flooring. I like the colour palette. It goes well with the light coloured rock feature wall. The chairs/benches are comfortable, all creating a nice atmosphere. The prices are a bit steep for both food and wine. I was there for a function where the meal options were limited: an appitizer and entree for $28. The food all looked very good and was plentiful. My glass of Malbec.($11)went well with my lamb. I also had the garlic prawns, but many had the calamari and were quite pleased with their choice. The staff was friendly and efficient. The food came out quickly and hot. Everybody seemed very happy with their meal, there was about 50 of us.
Thought to try a different place for greek dinner, and son's birthday. Nice atmosphere but somewhat stark in decor. Service was good, food was good, but not great...just nothing special. And strange that you had to pay for pita bread. Between all of us, we had chicken and lamb souvlakis, greek ribs, couple of drinks and an appy. A bit pricey but seems to be the norm these days. Wouldn't return but wouldn't say don't try it.
